I just seen gas for $2.00 a gallon in Oak Creek. You all should be going buck wild, its half the price it used to be 3 months ago. I don't know how long it will last, but it now costs me less then $50 to fill my truck :banana1:

Typical over-correction of the market pricing of gas. Now everyone will bitch when it goes back to around 3 where it probably should be all the time. People will use a lot more now again which will drive the price back up.

Over correction or not filling up the Suburban is not as painful as it was. Which station was at $2.00?

Yup,

Just like everything in the economy seesawing. Hopefully the low prices at least last through the winter. But my guess is that they will be right back to $3/gal (which is about where they should be) ocne the spring/summer driving season hits next year.

Dude! Don't say that! They are listening to us over the internet. Next thing you know, its 3.50 again.

Personally, I think the gas companies just got tired of making so much money. That, and they're scared since "their boy" ain't going to be in the whitehouse much longer.

Why people are trying to subscribe to market forces NOW, I don't know.

I just really, really hope it still cheap-ish come spring/summer.

im perfectly fine with paying $2.00 per gallon. Hell, I'll even be fine with $2.50, but as we go over $3, then it hurts more and more

Not only that, but I think it is a mental-thing, too. Like, we have grown up with our parents talking about the days when gas was 50 cents a gallon, or lived through those days ourselves, or maybe for the really young members here, had parents talking about the "$1.00 per gallon" days. Once it starts getting over $3.00 per gallon, it starts to mess with our heads, I think. Makes us really feel like we are all living in bad times, which we are, but who wants to be constantly reminded, right?

I'm very happy with 2 bucks, I hated filling up my truck and it costing me $100+

not really. It was more of a hurt-in-the pocket sort of thing. Theres going to be inflation on stuff, but to go from $.99 a gallon back in 1998 and 10 years later be paying $4.50...... come on now

When I got my license I was paying $1.15 I could fill up for 15 bucks. Those where the days.

Well, for me at least, the disturbing-factor is there. The monster chunk out of the wallet is terrible, but the way it makes you feel is bad too. Kinda like this "What are things coming to, and how bad is it gonna get?" feeling. At least my precious little RS is gentle on gas, lol! She sips, rather than guzzles. My other Camaro, however, is like a booze-hound for premium.

It really does take a chunk of money out of your wallet. When gas was in the 4 dollar range i would put in 40 bucks drive it Friday Saturday and Sunday. By Sunday night I would need gas again. Then again I didnt exactly improve the gas mileage on the car just made it worse :rolf
