Before i get into all of the pictures, ill give a little info about the car.
My Dad picked up this car from a guy about 2 years ago, always wanted a project car since letting go of his 69' Camaro. I've been into the car and the possibilites since the beginning but never had the time nor money to get things moving. For those that know me well, can attest i have been saving for a LONG time and almost pulled the trigger on a few cars of my own but decided to let them go to see what comes along later in life.
Well as of late, the engine in our 66' started to get real weak and wouldn't turn over for the life of it. The Brakes were ABSOLUTELY terrible and would pull be incredibly hard to the right almost killing me a few times. The entire floor was rusted through and we knew that needed to be fixed sooner or later. We love the looks of the car and with it being black i fell in love.
We have been tossing around ideas of what we wanted the car to be and just lately started to share the same ideas. And with my pops leaving for a week long hunting trip (a month ago) i pulled the pin and pulled out the engine/Tranny while he was gone as an early christmas present! It didnt go over well at first but as time went on he started to get fired up about the possibilites of the project. So here we are today!
I met Mr. Plimpton when dealing with Race fuels for his Thunderbird which just happens to be the FASTEST PUMP GAS CAR in the country! And just from meeting with him i could tell we were a lot a like. Ford Lovers! Old School car lovers, and shared the same ideas for this car right away! He gave me his word that the car would be incredible when he was done! And to this point he has delivered 110%.
Dennis/Corey/Ryan and all of the other guys working for Jim all do amazing work and i felt incredibly comfortable with my pop's car in their hands.
We've got some big plans for this car, but ill start with the pictures!
Starting with how it looked before i pulled the trigger....

The guy who had the car before us, half assed the entire car and after realling getting to see things with everything torn apart it made me sick to my stomach knowing we put our lives on the line driving that car!!!
Here are the major rusted areas that Jim and his crew have been working on!
I forgot to save the pictures of the entire floor, but it was completely rusted out and had huge holes with some 1/8" thick steel metal covering the holes.
