' A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life wrote a
blank check made payable to 'The United States of
America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my
life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people
in this country who no longer understand it.'

Got that in a email, I thought it was pretty powerful so I figured id share it :)

November 11th is all I have to say peeps. If you dont know that day you better. Its veterans day. Be sure to say thanks to your local veteran and those in your own family who served. If you dont know a veteran then say a prayer and thanks to those who have fallen so you can be here today and enjoy the freedoms and liberties that exist in this country that lies underneath the red, white & blue they protected

good message for sure. i always love the feeling that i get when i thank a vet or someone that is currently serving. i try to do it all year, not just on veterans day. something sooo simple like saying "hey, thanks alot" but it is sooo important. the look on their face when a complete stranger acknowledges all they did or are doing is priceless. goosebumps.

once again, "Thanks to all here who have served, are serving, or have family currently enlisted!"

Thank you to all the Vets on here and everywhere.

Indeed, it is. I have a print of it hanging in my living room, right next to a print of the Iwo Jima flag raising.

As a Vet I can say the hardest part isn't the possibility of losing your own life but seeing some of your friends lose theirs. I'm thankful we live in a country with an all volunteer military and yet there are so many willing to serve!
