Got a kick @$$ Samsung 42" Plasma a 2/12/07, purchased the
"Warrantech" 3yr extended service, floor model was $1368.

With an odd blue haze apearing on my light colored background
I brought it in to Flanners, a few weeks later the Warrantech people
called and said they are "getting me a quote on a replacement tv"
and assured me there was going to be no out of pocket expense
on my part.....they will have this quote in 3 buisness days.

So now when they call me what are they gonna say? You cant buy a
1080 Samsung for the $1300 I paid for it from the Fanners site. I
dont even see a 42" 1080 on there site, 50" 1080 for more money

I did a net search and dont see any realy bad experiences with these
people so Im not gonna jump up and down pissed just yet. I would be
glad to drop some more coin to go up to a Pioneer but Im not going to
settle for a 720 or anything less than the kick @$$ Samsung picture.

They will probably give you a store credit of what the TV is worth. Then you will have to get something of equal or more value with that credit. A bunch of my buddies work there so if you need a name of someone to talk to just let me know.

Good to know thanks. I have nothing but good things to say about
Flanners, very helpful. I'm just afraid the underwritter is gonna say
the TV is worth $600 and I need to flip the rest....that when I spend
my vacation flying to Georgia to put the TV thru the VPs window!

I would rather pay to have my TV fixxed, thing is incredible right next
to a Pioneer Plasma.

Its so hard to get plasma's fixed so thats probably why they are just going to junk it. My guess is you might be taking a trip down to Georgia:goof

A guy on one site said if you have the knowledge to
nuke your set under the manuafatures warranty time
before buying the extended contract on Plasmas.

Others have had what they said were good experiences
when there sets repair costs exceeded the tv value and
still under the extended warranty.

Im certainly hoping for the best for there sake, of all
the crazed retards on this earth I've got mad skillz in
lots of areas and someone somewhere will be out the
$1380.... one way or another. Sucks because I love the
picture on this set, rarely impressed seeing other peoples
sets in 1080.

We'll I've been without my TV for 4 weeks monday, coutless un returned calls, lost calls and general PITA...Im suppose to see a new TV in 7-10 buisness days....will be shocked if it arrives.

$1600 Samsung from Flanners, could not have been happier
with its performance.

Warrantech is giving me a $799 Samsung "4" series (lowest grade
you can buy) after weeks of being put off.

Hey at least I've got the balance of my 18 months extended warranty....oh wait no, no refund and that warranty is void..

Read your warranty carefully. Most warranties will pay to replace your set with an equal or better television. Since you bought it from Flanners I'd put some pressure on them as well. I'd consider a squaretrade warranty next time.

Im just enjoying getting screwed, Im letting it all fester and plan on going crazy from a tower and a few hundred rounds one day.

Flanners apears to try, they dropped the ball at least two times in this instance but I doubt they have any pull with the hillbillys in Georgia at Warrantech. Think of Warrantech as an out of state insurace company with no actual address for you to go beat there @$$.

Buy your TV where it is cheapest, DONT get an extended contract and should research show your tv is prone to failure "make" it have a catastrophic failure while in its real warranty stage.

Hey I paid under $200 for a warranty, am getting a brand new tv right? All it's costing me is a LOT of frustration, phone calls and eventualy bullets to kill people with one day.

Actualy there prices are more than competative, I was
just in there talking to them about my concerns, service
part a little weak.

Flanners is like that hot red head chick, she's a real
$%#$ but with looks and a bod like that you cant resist.

Hmmm, that's strange. You need to go back in and talk with them. "I was lead to believe that if the TV couldn't be fixed, it would be replaced with an equal or greater product". At that point I'd want the $ difference between the TV's AND the warranty cost that didn't do a damn thing.

When I worked at Best Buy, and we had people come in that had a $500 TV break from 3 years ago, they got a $500 TV that was on the shelf. Basically "in store credit" like what was said above. Didn't matter if it had 100 more options or was a flat screen instead of a tube television, the write off for the warranty company was the same. That's how we pitched the warranty stuff too. Never had an issue in the years that I worked there.
