We're still rifle so I'll be using either Mosin M38 with 203 grn SP's , the AK , CETME, 24/47 or if I am feeling some shotgun action 1300 Defender with Hogue overmolded stock set.

Savage 7mm Rem Mag with 6-18x50 scope shooting 140 grn Winchester Ballistic Silvertips.

I nicknamed it the "Dropkicker" because I have yet to have any deer take more than 2 steps after the shot...

(less bipod with bigger 50mm scope, 3" sunshade shipped fri, 24" fluted Ultra barrel)

Just picked it up last night, couple weeks to do a trigger job, free float
the fore end and figure out what bullits she likes. .223 is the smallest
legal round in WI, dont tell all the deer killed in my youth in CT by my
.222 or the deer in MN and WI with my old .223's that 64gr 3000fps
slugs dont drop large deer in there tracks :) These H&R/NEF guns are
stupid easy to accurize and actual group decent bone stock, $325 for
a 24" fluted Bull barrel is hard to pass up. Squirrels or deer same gun.

Everybody has .243 gun/scope pks on sale for $299 and 399 depending
on brand. Gander, Cabela's and Sportman warehouse in new berlin. There
"ok" scopes and Savage doesnt make a bad barrel at all no matter what
anybody says. My 223 Savage grouped sub "2 groups at 220yrds with fact
ammo (62gr Nosler partitions). My 22-250 Savage 5 shot groups at 100yrds
groups could be coverd with a dime. Decent guns, upgrade the scopes next
year when you have time.

I just bought this, but I don't think I'll hunt anything with it. Maybe some time down the road with a different stock on it. It's a Win 70 featherweight XTR in 270.

I've had Model 100 rifles in .243 and .284 but the .308 carbine is my favorite. Great all around in the woods, pines or brush. I'll be holding onto it for a while.:thumbsup

Oh lala a .284, that's what I am talking about. Great little caliber, just about a handloaders rifle now though as it's almost impossible to find any off the shelf ammo anymore.

Just pulled the trigger on a Browning X-Bolt 7mm composite. This will be my first bolt action gun, i was previously hunting with a remmington 3O-O6. Pick it up later this week and then find some time to get it sighted in.

Andy I was thinking of purchasing one of these. When can we go to the range? :D

Mcmillers in Eagle is probably the best outdoor rifle range around.
