What was your most awesome/exciting/thrilling/etc. car-related experience ever?

Bob, I never actually asked you what the fate of the Neon was....I know you sold it, but then what happened to it? Is it still out there, somewhere? That was a cool little angry-looking car, lol.....

I've been lucky enough to have many great memories.

But most recent of this magnitude is from yesterday at Road America. I was an instructor and one of my students has an Audi R8 w/ 1700 miles who'd never driven that track before. So I popped his RA cherry by showing him the racing line, braking, etc and other driving techniques.
I hear that car is still pretty 'rare' and its one of the most sought after cars at this point so it was neat seeing one at a track in the 1st place... but it was even cooler & a privillage showing the driver how to do DRIVE it on a racetrack! :headbang:headbang We hit north of 145-ish and got his brakes to STINK!! :banana1:

Add another car to my list of exotics & rare ones

Not mine but watched a friend do a 3rd gear brakestand in his 305 late 80's camaro and somehow it hooked up and he lost it and he stuck the nose in a swamp with the tail sticking in the air like a rocket. He sold the car a month after. :rolf I wish I had a camera back then.

The angry red car was on the way to attempt to set a new 5 speed 4 cylinder record when the new owner (with the person who built it sitting in the passenger seat) pulled out in front of someone doing 60. Drivers seat ended up in the middle of the car, came right off the track. Amazingly neither were hurt seriously (must be the ACR seats!!), and the drivetrain will live to see another car. The car was obviously totalled, so although it tried valiently on numerous occasions, it never realized it's final evil goal of killing someone.

Well today I got to ride in Adam's dad's 1970 Boss 302 (Grabber Green to boot). That was pretty cool.

And then driving a Viper is always fun. I remember my first ride in my Uncle's when I was really young. My Aunt had to find books and blankets so I could see over the hood.

A couple; Once when I was living in California, I needed a set of tires for my 69 Special and I couldn't afford them and a guy just shows up to my door and says "I heard you needed tires" and he gave me money to buy them. I was working for a non-profit that provided me lodging and an allowance. I was praying at a prayer meeting about it, and the money came the next day. A road trip in the late 70s with my best friend at that time, Jill! Top down on the 73 Eldo, beautiful vistas, beautiful woman...ah yes, the stuff of memories. Going to my first NASCAR event in 1991 in Charlotte NC. Awesomeness! Words can't describe the feeling when you walk through the entry way to your seat and you see 140,000 people all there for one thing.

There is a young kid up in my area that has a car that looks just like that. If he is out of high school he hasn't been very long. Anyway it's a nice looking car!

I was clocked by a state trooper doing 119 mph at the end of a on ramp on to I43 in my '95 Trans Am. I thought for sure I was going to jail, but I ended up not even getting a warning, and he didn't run my licence either. I told him I didn't know why the throttle stuck, and he said he had a '84 T/A that the floormat always got stuck under the gas pedal and made it stick. So he made me take the floormat out, and let me go - definately the most AWESOME cop I ever met.:headbang I will never forget that, neither will my girlfriend at the time (now my wife). :thumbsup

The first exciting experience that comes to mind is the time I left Oscars on the HWY right after I put a detroit locker in the rear diff. This was back when they still had the break in the median right in front of Oscars. I got into the throttle a little to much making the left turn and got the car completly sideways, lights facing into Oscars front window. There was no way I was going to be able to stop so I matted the throttle cranked the wheel the opposite way and held on for dear life! After a couple more s-curves in the middle of HWY 100 I was able to get the car to settle and stop at the light on Cleveland. No damage, No ticket, only a new pair of shorts needed.
