Does anyone know for sure if this tool from Autozone will work on a Grand Prix?

If anyone has any tricks they could share getting this inner axle shaft out that would be awesome. Or better yet come over and help and I'll get you drunk.

I have removed dozens of those inner cups with just a 2' long screwdriver or crowbar and a sharp blow/shove in between the cup&trans case.
Some stubborn ones I will put the 2' long screwdriver/pry bar on the bottom inside face of the cup and then wack it with a hand sledge and that usually always works that little lock ring out.
Never seen that special tool before.

I used a similar method on my 94 when the ball joint blew and ripped the axle in half. One of the 2 or so ft long pry bars .

Just give it a quick pry with a long screwdriver, pop right out.
Some of the imports are stuborn but domestics fall out.

Sounds like slide hammer and special tool time, no doubt that'll do'er.

A quick "snap" is sometimes needed. not so much a gradual pry.

If all else fail and we're assuming your removing a core shaft,
I've just taken a long air hammer bit and drove it out, the vibration
freeze up the crud on the splines. The snap ring built into the
shaft wouldnt apear to be the problem on your car.

I agree the "Quick Snap " is the key!

I get it with a 3ft crowbar... It just took the right angle and it popped.... car drives like new now.
