Anybody work for Stanely Steemer or anything? If so, about how much to clean an 1800 square foot house (some floors are wood)???

I could talk to the cleaners that clean our apartments. We use Starbright, Continental Carpet and Freeze Carpet.

If you have time, it pays to just go out and buy a nicer carpet cleaner from Wal*Mart or such. In the long run it'll save you money, plus you can use it any time you need to (perfect if you have dogs or cats)... We got one and I was amazed at the job it does.

Otherwise no, I don't have a hook-up on carpet cleaners, just figured I'd try to throw out another option incase you hadn't thought of it.

I rented one at ace in our old apartment, I don't think it cost that much and it was pretty simple to do.

300 bucks will buy you a REAL nice unit from Sams Club, and then you can charge your friends to do their carpets :)

Do non-professional carpet cleaners (like ones you can buy at Kohl's, Target, Wal-mart, etc.) dry the carpeting/padding underneath? I was going to borrow my mom's over Christmas break, but she warned me that it doesn't dry out the padding underneath the carpeting.

The professional ones don't dry that out either. It air drys, just as it would if you had stanley steamer come in or whatnot.

Ewwwww. I would think there would be more of a mess, because for sure I would shoot that thing if it entered my house, lol.

my mom and dad have one that they got at kohls it works good but doesn't a place like stanly steamer do a better job and get out the deaper stains and such?
i think it really depends on how bad it is and if its going to be a one time thing..

stan you guys have a baby now right? i think for you it would be better to get your own because of all the food/mess that the kids can make at least then you could "spot" clean with it or only do one room at a time...
