Looks butt ugly

Talk about a pint sized GTR. Nissan should stop making everyone of thier cars looking the same.

The A-Pillar is about the only thing that looks similar to the GTR. Other then that, the headlights and taillights are completely different as the 370z are using Nissan's new design language with the "boomerang" shapes.

The grills are also completely different.

It looks nothing like the GTR.

And besides corporate design language (making cars look similar) is what makes you recognize a brand. Manufacturers have been doing that forever.

I feel like I've seen this design before.... O yeah the crossfire.

Looks so,so to me. But I am excited to see what they get the curb weight down to. Rumor has it, it will be substantially lighter than the z33.

To tell you the truth, I'd like to see a 240 / Fairlady concept come out,

It's not a rumor, it weighs hundreds of lbs less.

That is just a rendering by some dude. Nissan has absolutely nothing to do with that rendering. The odds of anything resembling that coming out are slim to non. There's a better chance I'm going to have a 3 some with Megan Fox and Beyonce.

The next SX is going to take most of it's styling cues from the Urge concept. Basically take the Urge, cut the concept cues out, throw in the new corporate head/tail lights and bam, you have a good idea of what the next SX will look like.

The one thing I have to say about Nissan is that they have never been afraid to push ideas forward that others would dismiss. The original 300zx was unique, the second Gen 300zx was just sex on wheels in the early 90's, the SE-R Sentra was a sleeper in the early 90's. They got a little soft later on in the decade (SE-R 200sx and last 240sx redo anyone?) but they have really been bringing it back the last few years here in America.

im liking how the rear really screams out 240z, not much of a fan of the headlights (or boomerang effect) but nissan did manage to drop alot of weight, and it seems more performance oriented than the 350z. the good thing is it still uses the same motor that is in the g37 (that means parts are already available whoo whoo!)

not this thing again...please do not desecrate the history of my car.

as far as the 370, and all of nissan styling for that matter, this a disgusting attempt at brand identity

Whether people like it or not, their identity branding is working with people

Exactly. That's what it is supposed to do. Make you identify with a glance that it's a Nissan.

obviously. however it would be nice if they would have done it in a tasteful way. there should be sophisticated styling cues in each model that allows the consumer to identify it with the manufacturer. NOT blatantly gaudy headlamps.

look at BMW for reference of what good brand identity is.

They may be gaudy to you but to the next guy he may love it.

I personally did not like it the new headlamps when the Maxima debuted, but they have grown on me and I think the shape looks even better on the Z.

Oh BTW I seen you driving in Hales Corners/ Franklin on Hwy 100 once. I was with my wife in a Silver Camry. I was drooling over your car for miles. She got annoyed cause I wouldn't stop talking about how much I loved it.
