I don't know shit about these things, but one of my friends has one that supposedly needs a motor. He lives in Wyoming so I havn't been able to look at it obviously. Here is what he tells me

"the turbo blew apart and got sucked into the engine"

" the engine runs, but blows CLOUDS of white smoke... they said it's antifreeze"

They took it to the Subaru Dealership and they said $9100 for a new engine and turbo.

Any ideas?

Supposedly it shares an engine with a WRX.

it does and that sounds like aboput right for a all new engine from the dealer....he might be abel to find a used one for 2/3rds the price

all you need to know www.nasioc.com

some are uncool on there but it has more info than you can sift through.

the best bet is to swap another fxt, 06+ wrx or 04+ sti motor into it, not had at all. the trans stay in the car the motor comes out easy 4-5 hour job if you have never worked on one before.
