Remember, it went up 936 points a couple weeks ago only to go to new lows shortly after. If it could just find traction and keep it but the vultures could be out again tomorrow.

The market was highly oversold. Hence the boom today.

its probably just all people still trying to get in when the market was low. Then once it peaks, it'll spiral down as everyone is selling yet again trying to make quick money

It went up last time because tons of people like you bought in, then when you all sold it crashed below where it originaly was. The market will continue to bounce hard like this for a while because of exacly what you and tons of other people are doing. Nothing wrong with that at all if you ask me, but it is deffinatly adding to unstability of the economy right now.

I work for a "financial" company but there is a real big reason why they only keep me around computers, I am bad at it to :)

I've been paying more attention to them lately. I'm getting an E-Trade account either tomorrow or the next day and then I'll prob pick up something, probably some GE

Excellent! However PLEASE do me and everyone else a favor and i agree with the others 100% sometime either later this week or next it will have a drop. Probably as soon as tomorrow, before you buy wait for atleast a 200-300 point drop. Which is about 3-4% drop.

I agree, getting out and buying in is TERRIBLE for this market, but after already losing so much in my funds im not willing to lose more. And any more than i can gain back helps.

look into thinkorswim or interactive brokers for your broker. dont shop by commissions. shop by what they offer.

Nick- we haven't found a bottom yet, too much volatility (way too much) and no sideways movement as of yet. note the trend

Who said anything about not hitting a bottom?

I am my own broker. Never rely on anyone but yourself.

im assuming you mean you're a trader. you're def not a broker since you are not selling anything to your self or others.

and i misread your post about bottom/boom, read it too fast

Bottom or not, there is money to be made. And why pay a broker money to do it yourself?

I'm definatly waiting for a decent drop, but two companies I was interested in went up ~9 and 11% so it would have been a good day to have them. Thats the market though!
