Well the time has come to surrender my grill to the cold of winter and put it away for the season :flipoff2: x 1,000,000. I am getting rid of my gas grill before the snow flies and will just be using our Smokey Joe next year. The charcoal method works great for the two of us and the pyro in me still lives so I love pouring on the lighter fluid..... :devil :flamet

What is your preferred method of grillin' ; Propane, Charcoal, or something else (please explain)...???

I have both. I used a wood type pf charcoal insteads of the regular coal.
Takes a little longer but works better IMO

i use my grill year round and use both Propane, Charcoal.

I use propane if im in a hurry and cant wait for charcoal to get ready, or in winter its just so nice to push it out from the garage and hit the ignite button throw food on and done

i also use charcoal when i have something nice to cook like steaks or pork loin or if im tail gating somewhere or just want to sit back and have a few cold beers while coals get ready hope this helps

I have both at my house as well. Just like that one guy said it really comes down to convenance. So depends on how much food, what kind of food, and how much time I have.

Remember, if there isn't a giant mushroom-cloud when you light your coals, you didn't add enough lighter-fluid......

I grill year round as well. Propane. For only one person it's just so convient. Faster and cleaner to just use the grill.

Charcoal does give more taste, but in the time it takes to get the coals hot, I could prepare, cook, eat and clean up.

I prefer charcoal but have a gas grill. I use it year round but in temps under 20* the propane must go liquid or something because it acts crazy:goof

I vote charcoal. Get a nice Weber and be done with it. Weber FTW. I too grilled last year in a blizzard, a cold spell etc. Never stops me from grillin. Just grab a beer and set it in the snowbank while you grill FTW

I just like the Propane because it's easier, quicker, and cleaner.....

Plus I have a badass grill. TEC Patio II InfraRed Grill. From cold to ready to grill in under 5 minutes :stare

I can cook a t-bone in the dead of winter with the hood open in the same amount of time it takes in summer. Its great! :D

I don't prefer propane for the taste...but for the convenience

I have a carport, so it's really easy for me to grill year round. I had propane for years, but recently switched to charcoal. It takes a couple minutes to get a grill going, grab a beer and relax for awhile. I enjoy cooking I guess, and I'd rather take my time than rush it.

Propane with wood chips for smoke and flavor. Best of both worlds!!

Putting the grill away for the winter?!?!?

Hell, I probably use it more in winter than in summer!!! :D

I had propane but switched to natural gas. The natural gas is not as hot as propane so I had to modify my new grill. Now that I drilled all of the burner holes and the orifice, it somewhat resembles the heat of a propane grill. Now I can brown meat without overcooking it in the middle.

Charcoal with mesquite or hickory chips. Also a fan of the Santa Maria style BBQ which is a huge pit with heavy mesh screen grill that adjusts to height. Seasoned mesquite wood and live oak wood for the fire. Also called Nipomo grille. Tri tips! Yumm!
