I thought I heard 600 a person but I could be mistaken.
The Dems want it, Bernanke say it would be good and bush is considering it. I'd say it's all but a done deal

How about enough of this BS income redistribution... give us a real tax cut instead.

Since we dont have the money in the first place we may as well just keep printing the imaginary money and let our kids worry about it. Good sound economics...

they said if i heard right...it would have to be enough to make worth there while to do it, but the economy needed the push....so maybe a little more then 600.00 each....i mean..what will 600.00 do in this economy?????????

hmm. Would be interesting. More businesses see minor increase in cash flow, yet on the otherside US currency losses it's value. sounds like a pretty much Fail vs Fail situation.

If they give it to me in singles, I could stimulate something. :banana1:

I've been REALLY unimpressed with both Bernake and Paulson.

Let's give banks bailouts for making poor business decisions (though more than a few of those bad decisions were required by the federal gov't). It should occur in the real world if people make bad decisions in business, they, and their investors should lose their investments...

NOW, to further make matters worse, let's burn a ton of cash to get people "spendin'" which at best has such a temporary effect as to hardly have any effect at all. What was all the hubbub about the last "stimulus" check? Where's the payoff? Oh yeah...it went "bye-bye" a LONG time ago, and NO ONE is better off for it.

It is tantamount to paying one credit card with another every month...you get no where.

And what's really galling is that it CLEARLY illustrates the failure of both Keynesian economics (as does the bank bailout) AND the failure of "trickle-up" aka welfare economics...but what do we do? Do the same damn thing again. What's the definition of insanity?

Will I enjoy receiving a $600 check to pay off bills? Yes
Will it help our economy? Hell no

Since we dont have the money in the first place we may as well just keep printing the imaginary money and let our kids worry about it. Good sound economics...

x2... We are so far in debt, what money are they giving us? They just make the money up and each dollar they make decreases the value of all the others.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the Public Treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the Public Treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy always followed by dictatorship."

I'll probably spend my 600 to pay off debt or buy a new computer (parts made overseas) so not sure if mine will do much.

If they do this another stimulas check I think it will be spent like last time. A lot of people are in so much debt they will probably take the money and pay bills off. The last stimulas check did boost the economy but it was short lived. I belive the same would happen. Also does anyone have a link to back up this stimulas statement of it happening?

I think a flat tax based on income and kids no kids married single would rock. Any Stimmi check I get will go to existing debt not to stores. If one does come it better pass fast to save holiday sales numbers or wall street will crash and burn come January.

HERE'S THE WAY I LOOK AT IT..MAY BE WRONG..AS WE KNOW MOST OF THE TIME I AM......the goverment gives ya some more play money...you buy something...you get TAXED for buying that product..the person you bought it from gets TAXED....at the end of the year you get TAXED, and so does everyone else...the goverment gets most of its money back in TAXES..were still screwed....flame away...

Even if you use it to pay bills, the economy is stimulated. Paying bills keeps those companies in bidness.
