Painted the car this summer, shaved the badges and the antenna.

Figured I'd try out HDR this time around, and I've been wanting to take pics in this spot for awhile but I never seemed to get around to it.

Hmmm. How did you go about attempting this?
HDR not found.

I took each picture with varying exposures (one light, one normal and one dark) and used photomatix to do the processing. If you would like to play with them I can upload the raw files.

I dig the car a lot.

I can tell it's HDR, but the effect in these pics is not as strong as most. I personally hate HDR. It's a neat gimmick but is better suited to artistic photos and not portraits where the subject is the main focus.

15.8 @ 90 mph
Motor mounts and strut mounts were horribly worn out at the time so I was getting wheel hop and the car has 240,000mi on it. So my 60' was 2.4 when it should have been 2.1 Those have since been fixed but I haven't been back to the track. I'm waiting to get a new engine into the car before I go back to the track. At that point I'd expect to run 14.7 -14.9, still not that fast but still fun for a daily driver. It does handle like its on rails though.

I saw last night at home. My computer monitor at work didn't really show much.

good attempt.

I like high dynamic range photos for landscapes and certain B&W's.

Not really worth the effort though overall and way overdone/abused imo.

Keep having fun though. :)

Too much color saturation. That is the most common HDR mistake.

The last picture looks like you are getting the hang of it, but practice makes perfect.

LOL 32v... it was actually 24v (that badge came on the 95-97 cars)

I had a PGT this time last year, it was one of the best cars I ever had and the only drivers seat I could sit in with out my back hurting after a long road trip. Great pictures!

Yea, that's not a good HDR attempt. Have you looked into how to take and process HDR photo's? Are you using PS or Photomatix?

photomatix. I'm not very familar with the 5d, so I had bracketing setup right but I had to take them a single shot at a time because I couldn't figure out the burst setting on the fly.

You're using a Canon 5d?

Are you shooting in RAW or Compressed JPEG?

You may want to try using a tripod next time, and pardon me if Im incorrect but the photos just seem really blurred so that probably detracts from the look you were going for. That can happen when bringing the values from all three images together. the cam must be perfectly still.

I was using a tripod, i believe the blurring is present because the camera refocused on the car each time, also I should have upped the iso setting. Next time I'll switch to manual focus after the af does the first shot. I decided to try it on a whim and wasn't fully prepared for it. The next batch should turn out better.

hmm, not bad

Instead of increasing the ISO, what was the aperature at? open it up, adjust shutter speed for optimal exposure and bracketing. Higher ISO means more noise. Keep it at 100 if you can. I try to never leave 100. Generally I don't unless i'm in very low light settings.

Specs on the lens you used?
So yeah. what were the full specs on the shots.

Aperature, exposure, ISO, lens, etc.
