I ride at Parkside almost every Monday morning, would be more fun with more people if anyone wants to ride :) Here's a few links to some decent area trails if anyone wants to scope them out

Now I have just a basic cheapo dual suspension 26 mountain bike. I used to bmx/skate and know my way around a bike so doing jumps/hills are no issue. But I have never done trails. Are those trails something a beginner could do? I would love to try it. Sadly monday mornings are a no go as I work. But what are some good spots to start at and just ride and not be mega hardcore for a beginning trail rider like myself.

All of the trails I linked are for novice riders with some technical stuff, but there is always a path around the technical stuff for beginners.

If you want to ride sometime Dan, let me know. I go pretty often during the week, rarely on the weekends for obvious reasons.

Ok. I will definitely take you up on that offer. I get off Mondays around 2-3 depending on my sales for the day. I just gotta pick up my bike from my parents house this weekend when i stop by there. I think I could probably handle some decent trails due to my bmxing background. What you doing this coming Monday at like 3:30-4? I don't care where. What ever trail you like hitting the most.

Doesn't matter to me. Parkside is fine with me so neither of us have to go that far south. Unless the Beulah is a nicer trail or something. I'll be there. What time we thinking?

Whenever works for me. I never rode Beulah, heard its a blast. Might be a better trail to do in spring though, its hard to navigate when the trail is covered due to it being so narrow.

Parkside say....3:30? Where do you want me to meet you. As I have no idea where the trails even are around there. Like I said takin a 5 foot jump is no problem...it is riding on a 2x4 that I would have problems with lol.

Parkside doesn't have any big jumps, some interesting bridges are in place though :) We can meet at Lisa's apartment or in the park parking lot, I'll PM you my number in case you don't have it anymore.

Meeting at 2886 Chicory Rd Racine on Monday the 16th at 3:30 PM if anyone else wants to go, right now it will be 2 possibly 3 of us if Eric ( stenchmiester ) can catch a ride.

Tuesday I am riding Crystal Ridge, if anyone is down for that. I hit it today, it was a bit wet but a LOT of fun for a free trail.

Eric,

The hiking trails at pike lake state park in hartford are actually pretty good. Also on your way to and from work, well kinda.

Just dont let the DNR catch ya on them with a bike. I got caught a couple times. :rolf

I would go if it wasn't on a Tuesday.
