I would love to have heard that call to the insurance company. I wonder if you can get coverage for nitruous bottle explosions?

yea thats why I followed it with a question mark, not sure how something like that could fail. Even if it was defective in breaking where it should, it certainly would release before the bottle itself gave way.

i call BS

the only way a bottle could explode like that would be WHILE heating the bottle with a torch, which im sure he wouldnt be telling the story.

HOLY SHIT! Makes me weary of putting an air tank for my air suspension in the car. *notes to ALWAYS use a burst valve*

Maybe he left the bottle heater on?

there is no way the bottle exploded before the pressure relieve valve popped.its a thin aluminum disc, which is WAYYYY thinner than the bottle. the valve will pop off before that could happen.

This isn't the first time that this has happened. There are photos of another car out there that was sitting in a garage when it happened. If I remember right it blew the corner of the garage out with it.

Edit: here you go.

That is assuming it was a correct setup with a burst valve.

so the top of the bottle is missing the valve, and it split in two?? something just seems really odd
