Mine gets irritated sometimes about my forumjunky-ness. When I had a house she'd get irritated sometimes about all the time I spent outside working on stuff.

It's a direct correlation between how much time we don't spend together and irritation. Together = in the same proximity. I WILL NOT sit there and watch stupid TV shows (Lipstick Bimbo, 9021hoe, Ghetto Girl, et cetera). So, if we watch a show I can stomach then there is no complaining or irritation. Problem is, our interest in TV shows doesn't really mesh well. When she moved in with me I basically gave up on watching TV. She doesn't like action or science fiction stuff. I never got to see the end of Stargate SG1. In fact, I used to be a Sci-Fi junky. But, I'm also a multi-tasker. Something that doesn't take a lot of brain processing power (like what she likes to watch, or The Shield) I'll read a magazine at the same time. Something that takes a lot of brain processing power like Dr. Who I have to be very attentive.

She's fine with me camping at my desk 15' away as long as it isn't all evening. I'm happy enough with that.

Let me get this straight, she moved in with you and you had to give up your fave TV shows? When we decided to live together, I said "I have my hobbies and interests, and I will not be made to change them to suit you. So decide now whether or not you are wanting to do this". Lucky for me, she likes car shows and puts up with my hobbies. Of course she is free to pursue her own likes, I would never keep her from that. Surprisingly, it works. (she doesn't care for my forum time either BTW, but if I sit through one or two chick flicks, I'm good to go.)
