I am planning on going to world of wheels.... I am thinking maybe Saturday during the day or something. So If anyone wants to go with me just shoot me a pm and we will set something up.

Scoty I tried setting something up last year but like most event only John and I ended up going. So I wasnt going to set anything up for a group outing this year.

And this year was a waste of $12 to get in, and $5 to park in the most unorganized lot I have ever seen!!! I doubt I'll be back next year!!!

I thought the world of wheels was ok. It had some cars in there that shouldn't of been in there. But the show doesnt seem like it has grown at all and a $12 admission fee and $5 parking fee turns people away expecally the women. If you would of met up with the BCM and MWAS group we parked in Mikonos next to mcdonalds and walked.

01-11-2004, 02:07 PM
Yah I agree -the fee sucked ass and the show was small IMO
I dont know about you but i think harleys should be at a motorcycle show -i dunno to me if you seen one youve seen them all-"they look all the same to me" Hell a lot of cars didnt even have motors ,there is another one in spring -If my car is in there I'll go -but if not I'll pass "it's bad when 90% of the venders dont even show up to promote products --I'm guessing the new buildings up'd the fee's so much it isnt even worth it for vendors to set up -I want the old SFP back they wrecked it in my opinion and I might even write to the state to tell them they took the fun and enjoyment out of a good ol past time:fire

I can say I wasn't dissapointed. But I wasn't as excited as I thought I was going to be. My dad got 2 coupons that saved us 2 bucks per ticket at carquest part stores.

69LT1
01-11-2004, 07:38 PM
All I can say is, I'm glad I had free tickets. Show cars that could never be driven don't impress me, and there are a lot of people who sure are proud of some $hit.

Oh well, I seem to remember making this same post last year.

fee was a rip off.

But where else are you gonna see a Tucker Torpedo? I can't believe that wasn't mentioned yet. That has to be one of the rarest cars in that show (or in the area for that matter). Did you guys see that thing? Very cool car. I think the show could be better but i bet the prices are turning people away.

I also agree that they shouldn't allow bike in there....they should have another show for the custome bike IMO. But whatever. I had a good time at the show but it could be a lot better

Silver350
01-12-2004, 10:38 AM
Jason was that your first time going to WOW. Because I use to go there every year and They cut back on a lot of bikes this year. Last year they pretty much allowed any Harley Motor cycle and there had to be over a hundred bikes there. Some were even stock. It was good to see they limited the motor cycles to the sweet looking bar hoppers

BAD LS1
01-12-2004, 10:54 AM
Well it wasnt worth the $12 IMO.

But seeing Tim signing papers on that pink S2000 and trading in the T/A on it was priceless;)

I just uploaded all my pictures to my PBase site.

http://www.pbase.com/silver350/world_of_wheels_04

Anybody see the 2001 Suzuki Hyabusta With the chick on the back portion of the set. It was such awsome paint work. The guy held a heat gun to her and her bikini dissappeared. it was so bad ass. here is a blurry picture of her with her cloths on. I wasnt able to snap a picture with out the cloths gone because the guy wouldnt heat it up with kids standing there.

I agree the show fee is too much, and parking is just ridiculous.
I also wish that they could get more out of state cars to show up so that there wouldn't be so many cars that you see all summer long, but don't rip on the cars that were there.

I have had my car there a few times including this year.I know my car isn't the greatest, but they need cars to fill up the place,so they let local car clubs participate.
It is a fun weekend(although stressful getting in there, lol).
You don't just see the typical car person there, you see your average family there that never go to car show during the summer. There are always people there that have never seen my car before.
It is a good way to break up the winter months by seeing people you haven't maybe seen in awhile.

I will say this......World of Wheels is just not like it used to be....

Becky, no offense I thought the cars that were there where show quality cars, but the last time I went to that show I was a kid and now I'm taking my kids and the show just wasn’t the same. I remember allot more custom rods and trailer queens and I think the show use to be much bigger. Congrats to the guys from bcsm that showed their cars.

b4mytm
01-12-2004, 05:38 PM
No offense taken Jay.I agree that the show isn't like it was when we were kids. They wouldn't have a need for local clubs to be there if they could line up some magazine cars, more vendors, etc.
I just wanted to make sure that my car wasn't labled "crap" by anyone.;)

69LT1
01-12-2004, 09:29 PM
I was not talking about your car either. Actually I like your car, it looks like it has a nice solid body. (If you know of a 67-69 of similar quality for sale, I am looking.)

I was talking about those beat up circle track cars and the like. There were a ton of cars I didn't even look at. Then there are people who don't even bother to clean the brake dust off their wheels. But the trailer queens bother me more than anything.

As for not allowing bikes into the show, by the number of tables full of toys, I would say they should have made room for as many as wanted to attend. House of Harley tried their own bike show last weekend, but I don't know how it was.

The bike with the disappearing paint was done by Will Christman from The Sign Shop in Racine. He does nice work, of course it is not cheap.
