How about a used Intrepid for $3,500 and then you can take the remaining $16,500 and buy a fast car..

those would be mid 20's in that year range with decent miles.

certified honda's are always decent. I think they have rates like 2.9% right now. I like the way the new Accord's look too.

Luckily I can say that now that I'm at a place that has a honda store.

Ok, so 22 and then $1500 to get it up here...

Again, mid 20's like I said :)

and the 70k miler? you might as well just buy new and have the same payments with the amount you'll be spending on maintenance :)

I want her to stay american personally GM but its her money and her decision.

And another thing, ESPECIALLY in this economic picture, if it's cash, KEEP IT in the bank.

If you financed 20k over 5 years, you'll spend about $2500 in interest at a 5.5% rate

If you kept that money in the bank, after 5 years, with a savings account rate of about 3.5%, with compound interest, you'll earn a little over $4000 in interest.

You'd actually make out $1500 by having the money in the bank account and save for emergency.

Just something to think about (yes I'm an F&I manager, haha)

that kind of money would probly cover a new cobalt or aveo, focus or others out there and then you have a full warranty also

certified used vehicle w/ under 20k miles, with a manufacturer bumper to bumper wrap around extended warranty over the certified warranty = 100k miles of coverage for $5000 less than brand new :)

Chris I don't think one can get a used car note @5.5%.....maybe not at all.

we are offering 0.0 on a lot of our new cars, and if you have real good credit, or put more than 10% down or so, you can get a 5.5 rate....I have heard of some people doing it.
