This is another situation for why concealed weapons should be allowed, at least it would have given him a fighting chance.....:(

I personally don't care what the 'real' laws are, I have my own laws and have carried anyways when the need is there to potentially protect my life.....:devil

Really sad. I'm about to put my SRT up for sale, and it makes me think twice. I'll make people come to my house to look at it.

thats actually the worst thing you can do. Because now they know where you live. I always meet people at like a walmart or somewhere else busy with people like that.

meet people at like a walmart or somewhere else busy with people like that.

Not going to help you if they want a test drive. It's either you alone with them during a test drive, or they can steal the car if you don't go with them on a test drive. People that would go as far as to kill you for your car would just as soon steal it from you. There's really no legal protection from this type of thing happening to any one of us. The guy was probably pretty defenseless. As said above, one of the many reasons for conceal and carry. The guy might at least have had a chance or at the very least taken one or two of those lowlifes with him.

They didn't mention cause of death in the article. Was that determined?

Karps TA

He was zip tied, duct taped and stabbed repeatedly.

Car Guy
10-06-2008, 02:58 PM
Also only give them your cell phone number, when I had a home phone some nut bag looked it up somehow and he stopped over at my house TOTALLY unexpected/unwelcomed. Try to find a highly populated area and ONLY meet people during the day, nobody in their right mind would want to look at a car when it's dark out anyways. Also, bringing some sort of protection in not a bad idea.....:shades

This usually works for me.....:devil

A University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student found dead in a shallow grave in Watertown over the weekend was killed for his car, according to court records filed today.

Haroon Khan, 31, drove a silver 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, known as an "Evo", a fast, sleek car coveted by his apparent killer, 20-year-old Travis W. Zoellick, who committed suicide before authorities could arrest him.

Before he died, Zoellick confessed to abducting Khan for his car, which he drove to Watertown and kept in a storage facility. Zoellick told friends that he stabbed Khan to death before burying him face down in a shallow grave on property owned by Zoellick's family.

This afternoon, Zachary S. Zaborek, 19, of Watertown was charged with aiding a felon. A woman also is expected to be charged in the case today.

According to the criminal complaint against Zaborek, Zoellick told Zaborek, his best friend, that he planned to travel to Chicago to rob someone selling an Evo and use a gun and zip ties. Zoellick asked Zaborek for help in carrying out his plan, but Zaborek said he would not go along with it. Zoellick later called Zaborek and said he didn't rob anyone in the Chicago area.

Then last Wednesday, Zoellick called Zaborek to tell him he had gotten an Evo and told him it was really fast, the complaint says. He took Zaborek for a ride and then parked it in a storage facility.

Zoellick showed Zaborek a plastic bag that contained smashed pieces of a cell phone and navigation system, which he said were Khan's, according to the complaint.

Zoellick also confessed to Zaborek that he pulled a gun on Khan, bound him with zip ties and covered his eyes with duct tape, the complaint says. Khan was driven to Watertown, where he was stabbed repeatedly and buried. Zoellick buried the knife and stored the silver Evo, which had a new turbo engine, tinted windows, black rims and a carbon fiber wing, in a storage facility.

Right now I want to go to Wisconsin...

No... Not hungry for cheese... More like thirsty for blood...

We had a customer buy a 4G63T motor and then take his time to pay for it... When he finally did pay for it, he did so with his credit card saying he was going to drive down to Ohio and pick it up... Cool enough...

So we waited for him... and waited... and he no-shows... We decided to call him... He's in bed, decided not to come... Wants the item delivered...

Getting hotter... but still cool... He negotiates a discounted shipping rate, which I agree to, just to salavage a $1000 sale... He tells us he'll get with us to plan delivery... Last we heard from him.

Until Saturday... When he reported the credit card charges as unauthorized, completely locking up our main funding source, which is Paypal.

We try to call him... "You guys suck and I don't want your engine."

We suck.

Yeah, right.... We're not the ones who lied 4 times to someone who is just trying to fill an order... And then twice more to our credit card company... And then to eBay...

Thank God for documentation and common sense, because if I was 10 years younger the boy would be realizing how well I can shoot.

It also perpetuates the stereotype of young men, particularly those under 25, being flakes. Most of our customers fit the age range, but not the mold, as there seems to be something about people who work on cars that make them understand how hard other people supplying them actually have to work. Has to be one in every group, though. :(

If anyone has any dealings with Travis Zoellick in Watertown, WI, beware, you're likely to take it the hard way and no lube will be used.

Kahn comes from a family of physicians and the outrage of the whole deal will surely make is difficult for this dudes GF to get away from prosecution. If it doesn't I'm sure a civil suit will be brought (it should be anyway) against her.

Haroon Kahn was friends of friends of mine.
