Should retitle this thread "Cheaper" gas. Even 3.39 isn't cheap, Not that i'm complaining, im sure as hell glad its coming down, its just that I remember the days when it was hovering around .99c. Then I can see the justification in saying that gas is "CHEAP"! :)

And diesel went up.... :rolf

I still dont understand how a fuel that takes less refinement costs more...

I still dont understand how a fuel that takes less refinement costs more...Because there isn't near the refinement capacity here in the US for diesel versus that of gasoline...AND because we're switching to "low sulfur" diesel, which takes ~ 10-20% longer to refine the same amount of diesel.

This means, that for any given month, we are refining 10-20% less diesel than we used to. This has driven us to import more finished refined diesel from Europe which doesn't drive down the cost.

As the refining techniques improve and the speed increases, diesel will likely take it's historical place as being cheaper than that of gasoline again...when this occurs however, is unknown. Could be next year, or 10 years from now. Who knows?

Im cool as long as it stays under $4.00 a gallon. Cheap the better though obviously. The ULSD sucks ass to. I cant even find LSD in the Off Road pumps anymore, they have all switched to ULSD around here.

Not that id ever fill up with Off road diesel though... :wow :rolf

Up by our cabin there is a BP station that has the On-Road and Off-road nozzles within inches of one another and both operate off the same Credit Card swipe. I could totally see how a guy could grab the wrong one in a hurry. :shades
