Well,

Friday night at the track a customer of ours (screamin281) had his rear axel fail. (nittos actually worked) so we decided time to upgrade to better gears, axels, and ditch the trac lock and get a actual posi.... Well I place my order for everything that i need monday morning, VSI gets everything here except fo rthe axels and the posi which is comming directly from Stange engineering in norther IL..... Ok, must be on the way will probably see it wednesday... Nope. So the shop where i get my parts from calls there.. and they say that it didnt even ship yet and that no one is there to ship anything until tommrow (thurs) So I MITE, see it friday... Now This is complete BS since they said it would ship monday afternoon and still isnt even boxed up as of now. Anyone else deal with this?????

I have no idea how they hooked, but every other pass was a 2.2 60' or greater and that was with 18 and then 16 PSI in the tires.

I would see if your store can get a discount from the supplier for being late and not shipping as promised....worth a shot.

I saw a 1.9 out of my Nittos, and I thought that was pretty good for them:rolf

Hopefully when I go to the M/T's next year nothing crunches!!!!

Well, I have seen thoes Axels go 10s, usually the trac lock lets loose before an axel snaps, im guessing we just got a freak. but yeah, anyone who says nittos are good obviosuly doesnt have any torque to worry about, and we only had 335 ft lbs at the ground......

Strange is junk anyway. They wouldn't even be in business if it weren't for a bunch of rich weenies buying shit from them so they get a cool sticker. I know no one that worked hard for their dollars would ever be a repeat customer.

What are you looking for? Custom axles from Superior, Alloy USA, or even Yukon would be better. For case center sections you have tons of options also. For carriers it's hard to beat an Eaton E-Locker.

Elocker on a mustang??? I didnt really need custom axels, just ones that will hold the car into the 11s. The stranges were cheaper then the mosers that i found as well, if this would have been the case then i would have got the mosers instead

E-Lockers are nice because when you want to launch straight you can. And when you don't need it you have an open differential saving tires and reducing steering effort (over a really tight limited-slip). You need about 800lbs of preload on a clutch or cone type limited slip to not one wheel peel. At that rate you're going to scrub tires a lot and have some understeer driving around town. I think E-lockers are still sitting around $550 whereas a plate-type limited slip is still in the $450 range.

Moser has some serious quality control problems. I broke one in my 12 bolt. It looked funny when I put it in but I ran it anyway. They're serious assholes about warranty work.

My Strange axles have been good. They were shipped right away and got to my door within a couple of days.

Fug them also! They suck period! I hate dealing with them! They are always either back ordering or the sheet aint the right axle measurements. I bought a 9'' from them and later got axles and they sent me axles that were 9/16 to long! on the passenger side. (BB 9'') They wouldnt take axels back cause they "were" the ones that were for the axels. I ended up taking them to Machine shop guy I knew to get cut and pay BUCU dollars on side time because of the hardend axles and since I did that it vioded my warranty for that axle side. FUG THEM! SUG MA BALLS.

Why does everyone hate Nittos so much? I cut low 1.7 60fts on them all day long.

2.2 60's on Nittos is good??? I ran 2.0 60fts on bridgestone runflats. Strange is usually pretty good in their turnaround times

What PSI, how long of a burnout? And F bodys are several hundred lbs heavier, most of wich is over the rear end so i could potentiall see how that could work in your favor.... But compared to the ET streets i ran, Nittos will NEVER come close, and are cheaper

I beleive that was discussed with John, but not sure on the outcome. Im very pissed.

15-20 second burnout, 30psi. I suppose weight would be a factor, yeah. But like I said, I've got no complaints about these tires. I drive them on the street though, so that's why I chose them over the MT's. I managed to get almost 10k out of a set and I'm not exactly "easy" on them. Having said that, I'll probably be switching to MT's next year for dedicated drag tires. A new rear end wasn't in the budget this year so a little bit of slip was not a bad thing...:thumbsup
