I have been looking for one for at least a month. Bad titles, not actual milage.....:confused

I am having a heck of a time finding a clean on. Must be a 6 speed and a TRUE WS6! No pewter or silver. Heck I would even consider a 97 LT1 if it is nice.

How much are you looking to spend? Looking for a low mileage car or...? Gimme some more details and I'll keep my eyes open.

$14-$15k if car is very clean with low miles. I do want a car with 80k or less miles.

Yoo, that isn't a WS6.

Chris, not that eager to drive to NY to get the car.

Found a 99 WS6 in Sheboygan, 40k mi, very nice but had a "not actual miles" carfax and very minor accident in which I believe the hood was repainted. Guy told me he forgot to fill in milage on tittle app? Anyway he set at $12.5.

ahh, got ya Joe. Didn't know how far you were willing to go for the "right car" kinda thing

Just don't get an LT1, haha

Keith a hawk would be fine as long as it is a 6 speed.

Whitethunder, 1st car was in accident and was repainted black metallic. Not original color.

2nd car is the one I went to look at. I don't know if it is worth the money due to the millage issue? Minnich what is your thought on that.

Firefighter Z

my buddy mark wants to sell his ws6....2001.....believe you know him already....didn't know if you knew his car was for sale.....

Crawlin
10-01-2008, 11:52 AM
honestly...

if the title stays "actual mileage unknown" i wouldn't pick it up unless the car wasn't ever going to leave your hands again. Knowing how you were with the SS, i'd find something else. Besides, red? Really? hahaha. You'll find something perfect in the next month or two that won't have that problem.

I always look at things in a resale aspect. Look how hard you are having to think about it. When you try and sell it, you'll have people like you thinking the same thing. Unless all of a sudden you'll only want $5000 for it and some punk kid(like me) comes and picks it up and doesn't care about that title.

Brandon,
Yes I am kind of related to Mark. He is a BIT optimistic on his price. The car is dirty as hell and he won't even clean it. I would offer him $14k for it, but he never really wants to discuss it. He needs to put the nada guide down and get realistic.

Why must it be a WS6 if you don't mind me asking? Just curious?

What are the differences other than the suspension and hood?

JC70SS
10-01-2008, 03:47 PM
the hood.... don't like the standard TA hood at all plus collectability as I will keep the car for many years. That is why I don't want a C5 as they are a dime a dozen.

I hear ya man. You gotta go with what you want, otherwise its pretty much a waste of time, cause' you won't be completley happy.

Atleast thats how I'am.

Good luck on your search!:)

Damn, its a good thing be paid way to much for that car, so he can hardly ever drive it just to sell it, lol.

i tried to tell him he wants to much for it. it's bone stock. has sub frame connectors but thats it. he prolly hasn't cleaned it since his wedding. lol he keeps telling all of us that he wants it gone. surprised he dodges the subject when you ask about it.

^

Some people are scared to sell for some reason. Whether they don't want to deal with the process or what not. But if hasn't been cleaned in that long, it will def need the ole clay bar treatment.

The car looks like it was driven in the north woods on a 500mi drive....it is plastered with bugs! That is not going to be a 1 hr job by any means. Headlight gear is also junk. I think I will call him tonight.

Anakonda69
10-02-2008, 12:20 PM
yeah i forgot about that headlight motor. last time i was at his house i saw it was dusty but didn't look at it real close. didn't know it was that bad.

What is your fascination with a WS6 98up? Why not get a LS2/T56 GTO?

You should be able to find a 2002 WS6 for less than what they're going for. We're talking about 6-7 year old vehicles that can't be financed conventionally, if someone can even get financing in this market. Plus, they're already obsolete as far as technology and performance goes... and even moreso when the next generation comes out.

Think of it this way... these cars cost ~$30k brand new except the SLP or Firehawk ones. If you pay $15k you're at 50% depreciation. Not even Corvettes are at 50% depreciation at 6 years.

Wrath I already have a coupe. I want a car with a removable top/tops or Vert. I am not a fan of the LS2 GTO. Would rather buy a C5. Plus there is no "new" firebird coming out.

how about looking for a modded Vette Joe? Or mod it yourself? Or does the value tank that fast?

JC70SS
10-02-2008, 03:54 PM
As stated above J, I think a TRUE WS6 is a kind of rare car. If I leave it stock and great shape it may be a collectable car in the future. I am not buying as an investment.

There is a guy where I work that has an 02 WS6 ragtop and a girl at my complex that has a 01 WS6 T-top. Either the world is going to implode because they're all concentrated in one place or they're not that rare. Firehawks are a different story. I like Firehawks.

WS6's are rare? whut

Yooformula

I would go for a Hawk instead of a WS6 as there are far less of those but having a Formula suits me nicely.

Crawlin
10-02-2008, 08:02 PM
SOM Formula Firehawk.....

THAT will be a rare car for future collections. I'd look at upping it 1500-2000 and finding a similar mileage HAWK :)
