Those places where you rent out time and they provide you with a lift and tools? I would really like a place like that around here as I dont own a lift:mad:.....if there isnt then why hasnt someone jumped on that!?

Prolly liabilities. Owner puts car on lift himself, then falls off. Or tools end up missing. ETC. owner get hurt stuff like that.

I mean if you own a business you are going to have insurance no matter what.....also tools would be "checked" out or whatever......after the person is done an employee checks over the tools. Plus they would have to sign a liability waver.

I swear this topic was talked about on here last year, too much of a liability for the owners.

Not really even owners decision. Insurance companies won't cover it, and no body with half a brain will start a business they can't insure.

I dunno... is there anyone else here from Milwaukee who is old enough to remember that they actually had these years ago? When I was a teenager, I used to work on my GTO at what was once a Mobil on the northeast corner of 27th and Capitol. They had three bays and you could rent them out and use the hoists. You signed a waiver and that was it. They had oil dry and a broom and you cleaned up after yourself. Back then it wasn't that bad of a neighborhood. (I was born in the house at 16th and Capitol)

We have these shops in the Army. They are AWESOME!! However some places like Fort Huachuca have ones that suck. The one at Fort Irwin has tire changing machines, paint booth, engine machine shop, and 8 lifts. All for 2dollars an hour

I installed an exhaust on a buddys 350z at one of the 2 shops on Fort Campbell.....didn't have many tools.....but the facility was nice. They had tons of "specialty" tools you could check out as well. It was good that I brought some of my own tools....

My cousin/I have talked about this subject for a couple years now and the conclusion after MANY hours of research is it will NOT work...!!! Maybe years ago it did but in this day in age it is just not possible, and I challenge ANYBODY to prove me wrong.....:shades

i would think about renting my lifts out, bring your own tools. I'd supply the air, what you bring in and take out to take with you. I'd have to come up with a nice agreement paper
