My student at Road America a few weeks ago has a 2006. The only thing that i would replace right away would be the shifter otherwise a great car. A friend of mine had the 2009 at RA during the vintage races and it is a sexy beast.

I would buy that any day over a ZR1.

$45K less, Recaros, no stupid window in the hood, and something I could actually live with as a daily driver for most of the year.

I still couldnt bring myself to drive that thing through snow.... and whether or not it would make it through snow is still up for debate :D

Im personally very interested in this car. Im waiting to see the details on the engine though. Components and such. If it has a solid bottom end, one of these may find its way into my garage. Luxury, Power, and 4-Doors. Cant beat it.

Gotta tell you I love my '05 CTS-V. It'll be a while before the price on the new ones come down to the point to where I can afford one (probably by the time I have this one paid off).

You know, even the regular 08/09 CTS' are pretty snappy. When I had my wife's SRX in for service (a rattling heat shield on the exhaust) they gave me a new '08 CTS to drive around. That one had the 264HP 3.6L SFI engine and I have to say I was pretty impressed with the pickup. They also offer a 3.6L SIDI with 304 HP, so I can only imagine that one would be even better.

I REALLY like the interior of the new CTS'... the V included. The interior on mine is a bit dated... it's still nice, but it smacks of old-GM styling cues.
