I'm looking at two performance cams for a supercharged 4.6 SOHC, Ported PI heads, over sized valves, and stock bore + stroke. Which cam would you go with, or what would you recommend with my application?

COMP Cams 102600 (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CCA%2D102600&autoview=sku)

Crower 62802-2 (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CRO%2D62802%2D2&autoview=sku)

Thanks,

If you plan on upgrading gears and torque converter in the near future, I'd lean toward the comp cams. If you're keeping everything stock in that regard, then the crower should be pretty decent.

The two cams are not very similar...the COMP cam is certainly much bigger when measured @ .050 vs advertised duration (of which there is no uniform standard to measuring), and even though the lift is less (while big lift is good, it doesn't mean it's better since it's not known if there is any significant flow difference on your particular head at .550 vs .581 valve lift).

Despite the smaller lift, the COMP appears to have more aggressive ramps, again, an advantage to making power b/w the two.

Despite the similar advertised power ranges, I'm betting there'd be a noticeable drop-off in low-end power in the COMP vs Crower, hence the need to upgrade gears/converter. As a "general rule of thumb" most cams listed as smaller than 218* @ .050 can get away with a stock stall torque converter...

Yeah I should have a 3000 stall PI triple disc and I already have 3.73s in the rear.
