There are times i regret every mod! Never knew a car before that could make someone want to slit their wrists as bad as mine sometimes! lololololol

On my 1974 Nova I regret swaping my 3:73:1 gears for 3:90:1 gears. With the close ratio 4-speed transmission I had the 3:90:1 gears put me @ 53 mph @ 3k rpms while the 3:73:1 gears I was @ 66 mph @ 3k rpms.

I don't really regret anything that is on the Mustang. Maybe a set of long tube headers or atleast a set of ceramic coated shortie headers. But thats about it. I love the 3:73:1 gears. The Trickflow engine package is sweet (would like it black instead of silver though). The 100 shot is cool and I have the jets to change it if I get bored or want to dial it back if I ever want.

I regret buying a TCI stall just to save a couple hundred bucks. Biggest piece of shit ever. Should have gone with the Yank right away and saved myself tons of headaches and a couple transmissions.

Let's see, where do I begin?

SLP longtubes (QTP ftw!)
224/228 cam (too small, went G5X3 after that)
78mm fast setup (eventually sold and went 90mm)
Transgo shift kit
forged 348ci shortblock (never used it)
PP stage 2 heads (should've went with AFR)
Precision Vig converter (went through 2, use neal chance now!)
Diablo sport programmer
K&N FIPK (what a waste)

I sometimes regret going with the 4.10s instead of 3.73s in my car. first gear is pretty pointless with street tires, second and third are soooo much fun though!

On my wheeling rig... probably building 1/2 ton stuff even though I had 1 ton equipment sitting around. It was a more "prove the point" thing than anything. 44" rubber won't break anything 1/2 ton on a light rig with a semi-smart driver unless you're wheeling sticky rocks.

On my blue truck, probably spending so much goddamn money on it period. I have about $7,000 into it and it's worth about $2,000. After repainting it I started wheeling it and it's got woodland pinstripes galore. I also got some dents in it including a giant one in the driver door from sliding sideways into a tree. The door was brand new.

A few years ago, I got the oh-so-brilliant idea to put sidepipes on my '79 Z28. They looked horrendous, weighed about a ton, had no ground clearance, so they made a fingernails-on-blackboard sound every time they bottomed out, which was every few minutes, they sounded horrible, and as a last little kick, they poured exhaust into the car's cockpit. They were removed QUICKLY, and replaced with a very good exhaust system. I hope the poor Camaro has forgotten the pain I put her through, lol..........

Well I just have DD right now nothing worth moding, but when I had my truck sometimes I regretted lowering the truck. Rode kind of rough and should of did an air ride set up at the time instead of shackles and hangers but I guess now that i dont have it its better that I didnt put the money into air ride.

Doing the 5 speed swap. For what it cost, I could have built a really really strong AOD and done gears. Plus the car would be driveable instead of me waiting for this winters sn'overtime to buy an Astro T5.

Wagon: none really...still spent a lot more on the car than I really wanted longterm. If I could go back I would have not done the Cusco front sway bar. While it made the steering more responsive and an overall better handling car, its done nothing but trash 1 set of billet endlinks and 2 sets of Subaru rubber endlinks

Biscuit: None so far. I almost wish I started with a 4-speed car but when looking for a solid 2-dr Biscayne you get slim pickins...muncies, bellhousings, driveshafts etc are all expensive. Nothing cheap about any of those parts. I got lucky on some of my 4-speed linkage though.

on my old GTX.... lowering it 2 inches... It road pretty rough. Caused vibration issues under throttle, maybe have prematurely worn CVs. Problem with grand Prix's though, they just sit silly. Ass-end sags and the front end is up 4 inches (reverse rake)

Lowering the car, putting a heim jointed panhard bar instead of poly bushings, and lower control arm relocation brackets. The car makes MUCH more noise now going over bumps and such. Luckily at the same time I installed adjustable shocks, so unlike most lowered cars it can ride like a late 70's Caddy if I want it to, or, as someone else already mentioned, like a typical lowered car (hard and rough). No matter how it actually drives, it still makes the same noises though:rolf

SpringTechs also... It leveled the car out nice. The ride was fine for me for awhile. Actually its real nice on nice smooth rodes. Car would hug real nice.

I don't think you have the car long enough to get the effects of doing it.

Like StanMan said, you hear more noises from the body and what not.

On the plymouth, not so much what I did, but what I didn't do:

-Sticking with cheap pistons on the first rebuild.
-Thinking a conservative port job would be enough and then redoing it going hog wild.
-Not just buying some nice AL heads in the first place and porting those...it'd been cheaper.
-Sticking with small headers.
-Not going with an MSD 6AL box in the first place.
- Sticking with stock 360 ci displacement and not going for a 410ci.
- Not building for BIG hits of nitrous.
- Trying to prove a point about fast 60's and small tires (it worked, but was a hassle that failed more than it worked) instead of going with actual drag radials.

On the dodge:
No mods to regret yet...everything has worked better than expected.

Yea, I had it in the lowered state for about 20 months, and had the full GMPP suspension/brake upgrades. Prolly not long enough.

That was the biggest mistake I made on my SRT (like we have discussed a million times:rolf) also. Funny how I heard the same line 2 years ago about how it's going to get better with the new software:rolf

These are the facts: the Neon SRT-4 was a 3 year limited edition model run vehicle, how much support and funds do you think they are going to throw at software upgrades 4 years after the last one was built? I hope I am wrong and they get all the bugs out, but if not, have that DTec ready to go back in buddy:thumbsup

same here. I regretted it as soon as I drove away from the shop. The highflow mids went back on the following week. It sounds good at idle and WOT but it sounded horrible regular driving with all the rasp it had. Now with the built motor it's loud as shit even with the full exhaust.
