depends on what ya want to do scotty --depends on what cubic inch --what cam --if youre gonna do a forced induction or nitrous
if your gonna do a sbc --i guess AFR makes a nice set --i know a few guys runnin high 9's on a 409 sbc with a set of afr's
But dont forget if you get that nuts you will need a 9 inch and a t400 minimum--lmao i should know

Is this any cylinder head for any motor? Or for just a SBC?

My vote goes to the AFR's. I'm running a set that has been heavily reworked and have all the good & expensive bells & whistles added by TPiS in MN. The AFRs have a thicker deck so they are less prone to warping if overheated, unlike the stock LT1 heads.

Sorry Chris, Yeah I'm kinda lookin at a 355. Thikin of being in the 1800 to 5000 RPM range. Nothing to radical just soem really good street heads.

I haven't decided on a cam yet. Not after a 9 sec car, just something respectable.

For the price, worked over Vortecs or the Pro Topline Vortecs aren't bad it seems. Is it on a budget? I was going Vortecs but may have a deal to get some Edelbrock E-Tecs for a good price instead ;).

I really don't think you can go wrong with vortec heads personally...although I don't know how that would fit with whatever induction you plan on uding though.

Otherwise why not take advantage of the increased flow of the edlebrock heads and save 60-80 pounds to boot. The downside is of course that they are more expensive, but it's hard to find a better value in the aluminum head market.

Bang for the buck goes Vortec, the problem is needing different rocker arms(expensive if roller), valve covers if your motor is pre 87, and intake. In the aluminum head world, my pick for low buck would have to be the Trick Flows. My buddy runs 11s with them out of the box on an 86 Vette Superrammed 355. HTH.
BTW PB, where are you getting deals on those heads from?
