So as I was watching the news tonight, there was a clip about Miller/Coors donating a bunch of beer making equipment to UW-Madison so they can add a class - Beer 101 (well I am sure they will come up with a cool name). Students this spring can learn how to make beer.

Um, discuss? Kind of cool, but one of those "only in Wisconsin" things.

I dont think its a "only in wisconsin" thing as brew master is a pretty involved job. My buddy went to school for x amount of years and had a internship before getting his own brewery in arizona area. That class would be targeted for that job and only makes since seeing how big miller is here

It will probably be a 400-level class. This will ensure that no under-agers/freshmen will get in.

Imagine being able to say that your hangover from testing the previous day's lab kept you from taking a mid-term for another class! :goof

QFT. You'll most likely have to take the bidness admin courses too.

Actually, my girlfriend goes to uw-madison and was talking about this course. You pretty much need a bs in microbiology (she does) to take it. 500 level course. Nothing even close to a wine tasteing or bartending course. It has a lot to do with the micro germs/colonies and stuff (don't ask me though).
