who local buys Catalytic Converters ?

I got one off my truck and other one just lying around. I know junkyards pay for them but i don't think they give that much. So where should i take it to that gives the most money?

depends on what kind they are. if they are OEM, not aftermarket replacements, junkyards can pay good for em. $40 bucks each or more. I turned in some about two years ago, and they were paying $45 bucks a piece for GM truck cats at miller compressing in the menomonee valley

I sold 2 pre cats (stainless) and 1 actual cat off my subaru and got $160 for them at a place in the East Troy industrial park.

when I sold a couple to the local scrap yard I had mentioned, scrap prices were down. They are pretty damn high now, id go check it out.

Actually ALL scrap prices have dropped as of late and will continue to do so for some time.....:rolleyes:

last time I turned anything in was a month or two ago, and prices were still up there. Thats the most up to date information I have.... until now

i got a total of 57 dollars for the shell and miscelanous scrap i had laying around its really bad cuz i used to get over a hundo for a shell

last time i went in i got 7 cents a pound for "mixed iron" and 70 cents per pound for cans
2.50 for copper and .50 for lead
