how thick would headgasket have to be to go from 10:1 to 8:5:1 compression?

Way thicker than you want to go. Probably about .125" maybe more.

cuz this kid on another forum is trying to tell me his car was 10:1 and getting detonation cuz they gave him the wrong headgasket lol.I knew it was a dumb excuse but yeah im a lil tired.

Really depends on the bore/stroke/head volume etc...

...but hitman's right...would need to be substantially thick, as in thicker than any I can think of. As a matter of fact, they call them shim's, not HG's, lol.
