What is a SPOON engine? It must be a Japanese model or something but what makes it so great? How much power is it? I watched the movie last nite again and got me curious on wadafa it was.

I have Spoon Strut bars, and a Spoon Balanced crank. IMO same $hit but overpriced.

Spoon is for Honda what Roush/Saleen is for Ford.

Does their name spoon have anything to do with the shape of a piston?

Spoon is for Honda what LSx's are for the Ford Mod Motor.

So at the library the other day, I was looking through the automotive section and I saw this book and it was how to modify your car like the Fast and Furious cars. Lambo doors were in the performance section too.

I mean in all honesty it would be cool to trick out a car in alot of those ways, but like hold back on the dumb graphics and stuff

The Honda 5spd transaxle would normaly be built from
Balsa wood, from deep in the Andes forest, a Spoon
Honda transaxle would swap the Balsa helicliar cut
1-2-3 and 4th gear for more durable Pine board cut
to match the exact OD and carrier ID support bearings.

A "Spoon" transaxle is obviously superior for a torque
motor but its overal weight gain in mass brings its
peak torque down a few hundred RPM. Balsa gearsets
will always be better for a street car (high RPM) where
the more expensive Pine gearset more for roadcoarse
action, normal aspirated.

Well the hype in the movie sounded like it was some crazy engine.

Well to a ricer... it probably is. :D You know how they are about their motor swaps. I once heard some riceboy say that he was going to swap an H22 or B22 or whatever... from a prelude into his whatever the hell it was and it would have and I quote "an ass-load of torque". So apparently 156 ft-lbs was his idea of "an ass-load" of torque.:durr

the h22 is "torquier" but no, not very torquey compared to other motors. im planning on doing an ls swap into the hatchy, and with 300whp, itll proably make 190 lb ft of torque lol. but cant argue the low curb weight of them shits. less torque = less wheel spin ftw!!

swaping in a 496ci would be a ass load of torque.

What was it Carol Shelby said about torque vs horsepower?

Horsepower sells cars, but torque wins races?

I am actually thinking of gettn rid of one of my stangs to try an import. I usually sell a make of car to get another make to build up. I am thinking of a AWD eclipse. My friends acura impressed me with E85 580 detuned to 450 gets 33 mpg.

e85 is some fun stuff... i've got a buddy down in chicago area with a red 4dr 2004 neon(not an srt)... 16g turbo, srt front mount, megasquirt to tune it, on e85 and slicks he ran 12.6 at 108.... and it's all homebrew engineering, which makes it all that much cooler.. lol

if i were to go import(other than the 2 that i just picked up:wooo:shades) i'd probably look older s2k like someone mentioned or find an early miata and throw a charger on it of some sort... rwd imports seem to hold their value though, so it makes justifying spending that kinda money hard... i know early miatas in good shape are still like 4k or something for a 1990:wow

just food for thought....

to mr. nd4spd. I bet you i make shitload of torque than your I6.
I have H22 with 500ftlbs. :) and I can make more torque but useless since its FWD. Just because you have a supra, dont mean notta.

spoon, buddy club, mugen, etc... whatever you call them is all BS.

I took a stock b18c engine from honda/acura fitted it with je pistons, eagle rods, darton sleeves, arp head studs, an ACT Xtreme clutch kit and ran consistent low 10sec timeslips. I laugh when these over-hyped names are mentioned especially when they say spoon spec engine and/or mugen spec engine. All the REAL honda guys know this is true....:thumbsup
