I keep thinking I wouldn't mind renting one just to try it. Thinking a class A.

Any recommendations, suggestions experiences to share?

Be prepared to shell out some big $$$ for the rental itself along with the gas to make it go, and more so with current gas prices. Last year I looked into renting one to take down to the Orlando World Street Nationals (for 4 people) and it was cheaper to fly down and rent a hotel for two/three days.....

I guess it really depends on how far you're going with it but it's just not economical to do so, you would have to want to do it for the 'experience'......

I know there is a place that rents RV's on Howell just north of College.

That is one of the places I looked into and I think it's called RV Cruise America or something real close to that. I know for a fact that the largest top of the line RV from there is $500+ a day :wooo because my wife’s previous place of employment rented one JUST to test some mirrors on.....

Uhaul used to rent them back in the day, I don't know if they still do. Most RVs, like anything you rent is beat up and poorly maintained. I would recommend finding someone locally (private citizen) that would let you take theirs out for a fee. Not too many people can afford to take out a class A coach anymore given operating costs are about a buck a mile so most are just sitting.

Kind of for the experience thing. Not even sure where I would go.:) Looking for something in maybe 32-34 length, just want a class A.

Funny thing but I did email a couple of dealers and never got replies.

We rented one at work for us to go in between tests during the winter when the warmest day was 0*:wow
The place was in West Allis but I don't remember the name. It was a nice unit, it had the van front but still had tv, kitchen area, etc. Probably about as big as you can get with the van front, they may have the big ones too. IIRC it was 92nd or so and a bit north of schlinger. my co worker picked it up and dropped it off.

Throw in gas and an a 1600 mile trip for 7 days and KaChing! What kind of mileage do you get with a 30 ft gas?

You'd be lucky to get 10mpg because it should have the V10 triton. I'm thinking you'll spend $1,500 in all for the week just to rent it if you're going to put on 1,600 miles.....:wooo
