My car runs 11s and I don't need a chute. AFAIK the chute requirement is based on trap speed and not ET (150MPH trap).

Based on what I saw, I don't think the car had anything requiring that chute... the tires he had on it were ridiculous.

Del Sol + RWD conversion... + LS2... + turbo? Sounds a little far-fetched to me. Not saying it isn't possible, lord knows enough money and you can pretty much make a car whatever you want it to be. Hell, I know you can dump an LS2 in a fiero for crying out loud.

Actually Fieros do surprisingly well in crashes. The media hype over them starting on fire was also way overblown. One or two caught fire and the fire was left to burn long enough to ignite the body panels... and well, the resulting body fire was pretty spectacular (so it got the media's attention). I think it was just the first iterations of the iron-duke 4 banger that did it anyway. None of the V6s (of which I had two) started on fire and if you swapped the engine, that would do away with the fire issue.

Every year at the dells there's a big Fiero gathering... all sorts of LT1/LS1 (and I'm sure by now LS2) conversions. The manuals tend to go through clutches pretty fast though since I think they're limited to a pretty small clutch.

Sweet swap, but I would think a forged 370 would have been better. Can't really tell but with the limited room and using smaller turbos a 427 is a bit too big IMO. I could be off too as it is hard to tell from the vid.

He had 16 or 17 inch black shiney rims with a polished lip (was either gold or silver) with street tires... the same on all 4 wheels. Probably XXX-35-17s. I'm not saying 150MPH trap isn't possible in a Honda... I'm saying that I doubt *that* particular car was capable of it. If there was a 150MPH Del Sol in the area I think someone would know about it. Next time I'll make sure I make my wife turn around and follow it to get some pictures. Shit, we'll race it with the SRX and see how it does.:rolf

Valve cover leaked oil, and it would ignite on the exhaust manifold......

I've seen WAY more cars with 3800's burnt up then Fiero's......
