the problem with teams in areas like florida and arizona is that if you suck (like the marlins do, with the exception of the years they won the WS) then you can't get fans in the park. most of the baseball fans down there are older people from up north that remain loyal to their teams back home

bro its waaay too hot to sit in a stadium all the time down there. Hell even the Dolphins games have huge areas unseated.

Yup. Every 6 years they stock up and then they have a fire sale. 1997 2003 .... 2009????

Brewer's attendance was godawful just a few years ago, maybe not 600 awful but still bad.

I remember my first game at Miller Park in 2001 the official attendance was like 8,000 or so but only about 3,000 people actually there. Bucks attendance has always sucked balls everytime I've been there, and the Packers are the Packers.

Then why does Milwaukee go to hell whenever the Bucks are playing?

I think thats mostly weekend games when half of Milwaukee is already downtown dining, going to bars, etc. and nobody wants to pay $15-20 to park in the BC structure and be stuck there for an hour after the game ends. So they park on the streets and in all the nearby $5-10 lots... 10K people in attendance is still ~5000 more cars down there on a weekend evening.

CONVENIENT! I have never lived someplace where it was sooo easy to get to a big game from downtown. Once it gets dark out, not everyone parties and going to games is relatively safe. I lived down in south fla and its not that easy to get to a game. Hell most new people end up in the ghetto just getting to the basketball games down there and talk about a pain in the ass for the Dolphins game.

I won't do the Bucks games because I get hit up by scary looking panhandlers asking for twenties. I gotta carry a gun just to feel safe in those parking structures.

not nearly as bad as Montreal when the Expos were in the dome. they were averaging only 4000 people a game. 4 times, in their last season, the attendance was so low they shut down the upper deck and allowed people to come down as close as they wanted to. saved money shutting off the upper concessions and such

I thought I posted this here last year so I searched for it.

They're on friggin fire again. So help me if this quoted phrase comes true....

Who wouldn't take a shitty team for 5 years if every 6th year, your team wins the World Series?!?!?

true.. there stadium is in very strange location not to mention its rather small.. its not really near any major city or major hwy..its kinda just out there.. the 2 roads it intersects at the equivalent of hwy 100 on the far south end.. :rolf

Do the Brewers play the Marlins in Florida at all this season. I have a friend who lives down there and we wanted to go to a game down there....Looks like I won't have a problem buying a ticket.

The Marlins are 11-1 so far... the OP was from 9/3/08. Max just bumped the thread beacuse of the prediction he made at that time.

Deggy I doubt they are selling out games even with their amazing start, but I'm sure most of the better seats are going to be sold.

Not so much a prediction as it was an odd possibility of a crraaaazy pattern..

However, IF it were to happen again, you can bet your @$$ I would be putting some scratch down for 2015.....
