That is a very good looking truck. I would like to know the story behind that. The brass at the police that decided a crane was the best way to hancdle that is a fool. Call a locksmith to come cut a key for it, start it, and the air up the suspension. Pass the bill to the owner.
How much to rent a crane like that?

damn i wonder if the crane would mess anything up lifting by the wheels like that? and if the straps would mess up the paint....

It's gotta be $500 an hour, I would guess. You can see the front fenders getting pushed in.
Looks like the straps are pulling against the fenders in the front for sure, can't imagine they aren't doing it to the bed sides as well.
Someone is going to get screwed for making this decision I have a feeling.

looks like someone was trying to prove a point. they may as well hook a chain to it and drug it to the impound lot it probably would have caused less damage :durr

thats messed up. I bet the real story is that the bags broke and it had to get towed etc
^ Uh no. Bags don't break for one, they pop. Each bag has a seperate feed, so if one did blow you could still lift the truck up with the other 3 bags. Only way for this to happen is if the tank exploded, which is EXTREMELY rare, of they lost complete power and even then all it would take is a jump to hit the switch and get the truck up to ride height for the tow.

there must be more to the story. I cant see the city going through all that work just to tow it out of a no parking zone. By the time they get a crane there and get everything hooked up and whatnot, chances are the owner would have moved it already.

Shoulda just hooked up a chain to the front and dragged it up the bed... It wouldn't of made much of a difference, and would of cost less...

if you watch he was blocking the entrance to a parking garage. The front end on that thing is F'd!
The person who called it in and the city is not responsible for any of the damages incurred since the person who put it there did to illegally. The city is only responsible to removing it. The owner is stuck w the damages and the bill.

I was expecting the truck to break in the middle, but I guess only Toyotas do that.

Theres gotta be more to the story, or at least I hope.

It sits on all 4 wheels all day long, I bet there was some added pressure on the ball joints :)

More like $160-180/Hr. for that one.....but most cranes have a 4 hour minimum.
