View Full Version : Blitzkrieg Cage Installed!

Finally got the cage put in by Blitzkrieg Motorsports in Caledonia.

Shop did a great job, especially considering the price and that it was painted ($850).

In regards to the rear bar where the seats used to be, I am going to have that carpeted over to cover the metal that is exposed. Also, diameter allows for a future upgrade to a full cage if necessary.

I am very happy with the outcome, it is about $3-400 cheaper than the competition and I can't see how the competition would do it any better.

Not to be an ass, but is a four point like that gonna stiffen it up enough to make any kind of difference? Is that a weak area on those cars? Putting a cage in a car kinda crosses an imaginary line and ( I don't know how to say this with out sounding like an asshole, but here goes) putting in a four point seems kinda half assed for the time/effort/money/commitment involved. Nice car, btw. Be a player and get the seat cut to go around the cage.

6pt, good to 10.00 w/ harness an other safety equipment(just a jacket/gloves/helmet required when in the 10's right?)

yep, I am good to 9.99 with a 5 point. Most get a 6 point by putting the bar across the passenger side as well for weight distribution, but only a 5 is actually required.

Beyond that, most tracks just look for a cage via a quick glance and then sign you off for 9.99 or slower.

I am expecting to be around 10.2 with a better 60 ft.

I stand corrected. I'm still voting for putting the rear seat back in.

how much of a pain is it to get in and out of the car?

looks good. the only reason you got it was so you caould ge faster and be legal at the track?

Got it so I don't keep getting bothered by track officials.

I run 11.0's N/A and low/mid 10's on the gas.

Easy to get in but a PITA to get out.

I did not do swingouts because it costs about $150 per side additional and most people buy them and never use them.

I may also go direct port eventually and up the shot to a 250/300 and be easily in the 9's...the motor is fully built with proper tolerances for the gas (i.e. loose).

Right now I only have 1 issue with the car, and that is a slight vib from the driveshaft because of my rear cradle being slightly out of alignment. Problem is that I have subframe connectors welded in so it is not an easy fix, probably won't get that addressed till next year while I am in Iraq at which time I might have Dennis put in an SRA, depending on what I upgrades I do with the HD Street Glide I'm getting (plan a 110" CVO motor for that and maybe some custom paint).

theres OTE in waukesha, pats rod and comtetition in butler, Dave zelmer i think is still doing chassis, but heres the thing, Dennis does this on the side (at least he was a year or so back) and operates out of a smaller garage, Less over head, means savings paseed onto you, and if you have issues tuning he usually wont have issues going to the help get you dialed in.
