Back in 1989, before most of you were born, I ran 350 in the fogger and 250 in the plate in my aqua '69 Torino. Stock CJ rods and crank-434 inches weighing 4080 with me in it went a best of 9:97 @138.

I always thought of buildn a true nitrous motor since gas prices are high. Drive around on 87. When you know in your gonna run it hard in like 15 minutes turn a lever(or soleniod) to cut off the 87 and flow the 110 in. Freekin be brilliant! spray lika 300. But think car would be crappy on 87 to drive but be fun as hell on spray!:thumbsup

True Nitrous Motors are high compression.

I would only use up to 110 cause its kinda readily avail in pump form here. AS for "track" car, yes I am supposed to run C16 on spray. Something Similar like a old car craft mag article where that chick had that 65ish red nova on 87 then ran a hard hit on racegas.

I run a 100 wet shot on my '94 GT. I wanna up it to a 150 shot but am kinda leary seeing as how I have a stock bottom end 5.0 (non-forged pistons).

I may put the 150 shot in then. LOL

The 100 shot was fun for a while but I want more. I run premium in it all the time cause of the chip I have (SCT Flipchip).

The two largest jets I have are straight through and an 86. What kinda shot would that make???

youll want to run 4* baseline timing with a 150 shot, and of course 92 or 93 octane, idk what hte sct tuner does for timing curves, mine was a factory timing curve with 6* of timing out.

i love spray, if it wernt such a PITA to maintain, id be doing a nitours motor, it hands down hits harder then any other power adder and is instant toruqe.

Currently with my 100 shot I'm running 10* baseline timing. I also have a MSD 6AL ignition box. If I do run the 150 shot I'll take the car into my tuner Paul @ Speedkey and have him tune the flipchip for the added nitrous.

if you have a timing light you wont even need that, if he flashes the chip, you will always have a nitrous tune so you will lack performance off the bottle. all i usually do is set my timing before i go out (takes 5 mins) 10* is probably a little on the high end with a 100 shot..... I like to be safe and just go by the general rule of 2* for every 50HP of nitrous... The only thing i would watch is how agressive the timing curve is on the chip that you have, lets say you set baseline at 6*, the chip may advance it much faster as the rpm goe sup then the factory....

The flipchip actually has multiple tunes on it. One for performance N/A and another for N20. The 10* base timing is for the chip not the N20. So on my N/A tune I'm actually running 14* of timing then as soon as I switch to the N20 tune it retards back to 10*. That and on a 150 shot I'd rather have him add a tad more fuel at top end just to be safe.

have your guy actually datalog that thing when he does the tune and make SURE there is no detonation on the bottle. The switch chip is a great thing for sure. tune it hot as it goes on motor and likewise on the bottle, don't compromise anything and get all you can out of your combo if you have a switch chip. Leave nothing on the table and you will be a VERY happy person. :thumbsup

/\/\ well put.. I would have additional timing out if you run anything more then a 150 shot for sure. what fuel pump do you have? i run a walboro 255 intank with a adjustable FPR.

Inspector13
08-29-2008, 12:56 PM
Actually I have no idea as to what fuel pump I have. I'm thinking it may be stock.

He datalogs the car on the dyno and I also have a FAST air/fuel meter in the car at all times. The 100 shot was ok but after the first few sprays I wanted more.
