I was referring to an all out speed run and not in the 1/4 mile.....

I double checked the article and 795kg is what it said, maybe its not geared for the 1/4 mile...??? If it wasn't I'm thinking it must do 200mph super easy.....:wow

Impressive but something doesn't add up. 650HP (550whp) and <1800lbs should be trapping way over 135.

And also in terms of top speed its probably not *too* crazy, remember in terms of top speed weight plays almost no role at all. The main factors are horsepower, CD, and frontal area. I would guess somewhere around 190-200 MPH.

YEAH My buddy had a S/c Mini cooper S with I/H/E and wheels car was a riot, not straightline fast but it was peppy.

i would pick one up they get 35+ MPG on the freeway on 93 thats pretty good.

could well be that the turbo spools too slowly to get it too the power it needs to make, for the time it needs to make to get the higher than 135 trap speeds...especially in the lower gears. Don't forget...IF it makes 650hp, that's only a 1.6 that it's doing it with...the compressor probably larger than the engine itself, lol.

It does seem on the high side though, no doubt. It's a chrysler neon SOHC derived engine (and for all intents and purposes, it IS a chryco-sohc engine)...those familiar with the neon can spot the similarities right off.

Yes, but the Mini is more comfortable to drive than an HHR... Drive one more than 250mi in a day and you'll understand what I'm talking about... And mine's an LT, not an LS...
