How much fuel does one barrel of oil produce?

What's funny to me is alof of this apparently is due to the Russian/Georgia thing. However I've read that we're only talking 90,000 barrels a day. Which shouldn't be enough to make a difference. I say that cause when Congress said that we should stop filling the Strategic Reserves that the experts said that would make no difference in the price, and we're talking about near the same amounts.

I say we're owed more low prices, oils been down a bunch and gas barely moved. Now it's time for gas to barely move when oils on the way up.:goof

With the current price of oil gas SHOULD be around $3.00 a gallon. This shit is rediculous.

Filled up for 3.75 tonight even though I didn't need it. If I see lower this weekend, I'm gonna be pi$$ed.

How much fuel does one barrel of oil produce?42 gallons of gasoline.

Here's the thing:

By not allowing us to drill for our own oil, we basically put at the mercy of tyrants such as vladimir putin. Here's a guy that LITERALLY punishes europe by shutting down pipelines to those countries...leaving them scrambling for other ways to get fuel/gas into there nations, sending prices skyrocketing there, and creating rippling price increases throughout the world.

PART of the reason for invading georgia, is for control of the pipelines running from the caspian/black sea regions...giving him even greater ability to get his way via oil hold-backs. This is a frequently used tactic for the scum.

Of course, by NOT drilling for our own oil, we are also at the mercy of his actions. It'd be one thing if we HAD the infrastructure in place to just ramp up production...but we don't. Remember the dems claims? It'd take 7-8 years to get oil production going? HOW long have we held off? Oh, yeah...7-8 years ago, we DID try to increase domestic production...but alas! Dems and Rino republicans blocked it.

Why have we STILL not learned the lesson that hitting us smack in the face?

gas prices are ~$.05 difference throughout the week, so your big jump in oil prices hasn't seemed to alarm anyone

i dont get posts like this, i really dont?

As i try to give any help i can on any possible prices drops/gains.

As for price differences, we had a 10cent jump in our neck of the woods..i would consider that rather significant for larger vehicles?

As well as, i really dont have to tell you or anyone else whats going on. But i choose too because many of my friends do drive for a living/are on BCM. However im learning more and more that ill keep it to myself and PM those who really do care.

I never said "the barrel price went up gas prices are going through the roof" I simply said when barrel prices jump that big there is a possibilty for a big increase if the terminals choose to. On the other hand the barrel price moved .50 up from tuesday to wensday. Which normally would mean no difference in price.....yet we (as retailers seen 7 cent increase).

There is no real answer to this madness, like many people have pointed out in this thread. I simply let people know where their is a possibility for a big move up or down.

But have a nice day?

I understand you trying to help people, which is nice, but with gas as high as it is already, I doubt a overnight $.20 or $.30 price jump would make or break someones bank. But as others said, I need the gas regardless, so, I just close my eyes and swipe my bank card
