Went out to Import Wars on Saturday and got a few runs in. I didn't realize before I entered the "Super Quick" class that you're limited to 3 qualification runs... so I was limited to that plus a couple of elmination rounds (broke out on round 2).

Certainly not in the same league as some of the 8 or 9 second Supras, but I'm having fun with my new setup. :D

Nice runs!

And thanks again for the ride on saturday night :thumbsup have to do it again when you got a little more running room.

Yeah we'll have to go out on 145 or something where I can actually go through more than 2 gears.

By the way the jet dragster that was out there Saturday was pretty f'in cool too. :D

VERY nice quality video!!! Wow.

The car sounds like it makes great power-----about 200 feet out. I'd love to see what that thing could do with an automatic and a 3000-4000 stall..

Well, with an auto and say a 3800 stall... I'd eventually be kicked off the track for sure (assuming I was able to drive it that fast) for lack of required safety equipment. Mid-to-high 9s passes are *possible* on the turbo I have, albeit with an automatic transmission or stellar driving. Somewhere in the mid to high 10 second range is probably a more realistic ceiling for most people. As for me, I'm happy working my way down as my car gets faster and my skill increases. I'd never change my car over to an automatic though, no matter how much faster it'd make it in the 1/4 mile. I enjoy driving stick-shift far too much. So, I'll just deal with being murdered out of the hole.

Anyway, on the first pass I was launching around 4000 RPM which was WAY too low (hence the bog-then-lag). On the following 2 passes I launched around 6000. If I can get down there for a fun night I will have to play around more with the 5000 to 5500 range because I'm probably getting a little too much wheelspin out of the hole at 6000. I also need my 2-step up and working. Right now the two step box I was using with my old stock ECU isn't working with the new standalone (which is what I expected). The new ECU has built in 2-step as well as launch control, traction-based boost control, and a whole ton of other bells and whistles but I have to wait for the end-user software to be released before I can play with any of that.

That thing definately moves out!

What tires were you on? It actually hooked pretty damn well.

And the sounds = kick ass!

Nice! Love how that motor sounds! Doesn't sound like the blue flame in-line six in my dad's old '55 chevy :goof

I have Nitto DRs on the back... this is probably going to be their last season as they're getting pretty worn down. They don't hook quite as well as say the BFGs, but they're cheaper and they last longer on the street. :) I might try some MT Radials... but I've heard they wheelhop on Supras... so we'll see. I'm not *quite* ready to drop $3k on wheels, slicks, and skinnies just yet. I should probably get a stronger driveshaft first because I have a feeling 2-step + Slicks = snapped driveshaft.

Well, probably won't be for a couple of weeks Liz. I'm planning on bringing it down to SP next Tuesday for a few tweaks to the standalone and to have the wastegate recirculated. It'll probably be gone a week and a half to two weeks.

What size Nitto DRs... and what 60' / 330's are you cutting... My god your car makes mine look like its on ice skates, and I run 285 Nitto 555Rs. (35 series though).

I have Nitto Extreme Drags 275-40-17s. I have 555Rs on the front. My 60's are all 2.0-2.1s. I haven't been able to break under a 2.0 60' yet. Yes, I suck at launches. I didn't get my best run on tape because the battery died shortly after I videotaped the jet car. On that run I actually got out of it for a second or two because the car started to skate around at the top of 3rd. I don't know what the 330' is because I don't have the timeslip with me at the moment.

If you're not running DRs I can see why you're skating around a lot.

? I think you are a little confused... The nitto extreme drags ARE the 555rs.
You likely are running the regular 555s (note no R) up front, which is also the same thing I do. 555rs in the back and regular 555s up front.

I didn't realize it was a 2.1-2.0 sixty foot tho, that makes a little more sense then. Although all in all I'm pretty impressed seems like really good traction honestly
