Turns out it was a rubber gorilla suit that someone froze and claimed it to be bigfoot. LOL :rolf

was confirmed on Fox News this morning. People who did it might have a lawsuit against them.

Has it (the hoax) been confirmed...??? I was out of town this past weekend and didn't hear anything about the find being confirmed when I got back so I figured it was bogus.....

You could so tell it was a hoax, so many things were wrong with it. The "body" looked 100% fake, almost looked like harry from harry and the henderson's. And if you actually found big foot, why in the **** would it be stuffed in a food freezer?

Even after the DNA test came back, I had a friend trying to argue it wasn't a hoax, lol. I wonder how he'll feel about this.

We knew it was fake but how come nobody ever says they saw
a Plesiosaurus? They have found remain in more than one
continent thru the turn of the century but never a good Nessi
hoax? We need to put Milwaukee on the map (cuz I love the
place!) and start claiming we see serpents in Milw harbor :)

Just load up on fiber and take a real big dookie before the next rain storm. MMSD will take care of the rest.:rolf Crappy the brown lake serpent.

Well there's a big surprise: another extraordinary claim, proven false by a lack of credible evidence.

In the last 10 years I have spent a huge amount of time studying reality, logic, and reason to learn the mechanics of how it's determined whether something is TRUE or FALSE. And I can safely say that this claim of "Bigfoot" (half beast, half human) is just the latest in a long list of "tall tales", superstitions, urban legends, myths, etc. which includes (off the top of my head):

Loch Ness Monster
Santa Claus
Tooth Fairy
Hot rod mods that bolt in and give instant automatic 200 HP increases with no compromises
Ghosts
Telepathy
Friday the 13th

but ABOVE ALL ELSE.... religion and the idea of "God".

What all of these things have in common is the FACT that none of them is supported by credible, repeatable, and verifiable EVIDENCE that proves they exist more strongly than the evidence against them which proves they don't exist. (Or at least, have no *reason* to be believed.)

With the advent of the internet, free messageboards, and cheap high quality ubiquitous digital cameras, I strongly believe that all of these myths WILL DIE or at least largely fade out, in the next 20-50 years. Nowadays, truth arrives far more quickly than it ever has in history. There is no reason for tall tales and superstitions to persist in the face of modern scientific analysis, and modern technology.

I am not surprised. But still...........I wish it had been real.

Umm, wait...are there still societies/cultures that STILL believe in Santa Claus?!? :rolf:rolf:rolf

With the advent of the internet, free messageboards, and cheap high quality ubiquitous digital cameras, I strongly believe that all of these myths WILL DIE or at least largely fade out, in the next 20-50 years.

And you're theory is compelling...

These internet boards devoted to "THE TRUTH" (http://forum.911movement.org/)

that are totally supported by "SCIENCE" (http://www.chiroweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/open/Ultimate.cgi)

The internet doesn't serve as a meeting point for those who still cling to antiquated and thoroughly disproven notions of "VAST COVERUPS" (http://www.jfklancerforum.com/dc/dcboard.php)

If anything, the web is serving to destroy "LOONEY CONSPIRACY THEORIES" (http://www.conspiracy-theories-hoax.com/apollo-moon-landing-hoax-scientific-evidence.html).

Plus, the internet will cure AIDS (http://worcester.indymedia.org/news/2005/04/1119.php), famine, body odor, unwanted stains, and get ugly guys girlfriends and wives (albeit online girlfriends and wives...the logistics of the internet providing the real thing are astronomically MIND boggling!).

Heck, a friend of mine has a cup o' internet every morning and no longer has bad breath! Greatest stuff ever, this internet.

If anything, the myths, urban legends, or whatever you want to call it will gain wider audiences and more widespread following. Face it, there are simply people who want to believe and will construct pretty much whatever reality to suit their needs. The evidence of this is abound.

I guess it was not without irony that someone purporting to be reasoned individual, driven by evidence and the scientific method to finish his post with a statement of faith; one with considerable amount of evidence to the contrary at that.

In the last 10 years I have spent a huge amount of time studying reality, logic, and reason to learn the mechanics of how it's determined whether something is TRUE or FALSE. But I got a real serious question...did it REALLY take you 10 years and a HUGE amount of time and effort to gain these skills you speak of? The skills that only recently helped you determine that Santa Claus and the tooth fairy weren't real?

Wait.....Are you telling me santa claus isnt real?

But on a serious note people like this piss me off. Makes people who do real research look bad. Why the hell someone would do this is beyond me. Just makes yourself look like a moron. One of the 2 people who were in on it is a cop and I have heard he is losing his job over this stunt. Glad atleast one of them will see some repercussions from this.

It was funny to see the famous big foot chaser on msnbc doing an interview on tv saying he had seen it and it was real and that dna would be proof as you already know but he invited the on set crew down to the site to see the creature. They replied "so we will see you in atlanta" and he got all excited NO, NO not in atlanta...in a to be determined place and we will show you bigfoot cause we found him.

this guy must feel like a total douche
