I agree with Dave. I like the Top part Tyler just maybe come up with something different for the muscle part. Other then that it would be a awsome to have on a front of a t-shirt and on the back have some cars. Third and fourth Gen camaro's and firebirds, GN, Monte carlo and a couple trucks. It would make a sweet shirt. :thumbsup

I agree with Scott but with one modification...leave the trucks out. Unless the truck is pulling a 17ft. Coleman Camper or something....thats muscle. Or if its a syclone or something like that. personally I don't think that trucks should be stereotyped as muscle....my 82 Caprice had a 350...was that muscle? no.

Doesn't anyone here have a ford??

I think it's a good play off the brewcity and this being a Miller town.

I wouldn't worry about being sued though...one, little to no money would likely be made off it, and two, it only has to be 15% different than the original, to which the standard is clearly met.

Would look good on a black, long sleeve T-shirt :thumbsup

I'm not hatin'....just jokin around. My opinion doesn't matter anyways since I drive an import. I would like to suggest that you include Fords also...Ford haas made a few decent cars over the years, like the Torino and the Thunderbolt but thats about it.:Hump

What about the new cobra? The new cobra with a kenny felps? twin screw blower, chip, exaust, and intake are getting these cars almost into the single digits!!

New lightnings running 12's with minor mods.

4 door dually 1 ton trucks with power strokes running 11's.

Fords are cool too! Come on, I know all you guys have at least one story where a ford handed you your ass and you never told anyone! :nutkick

Powerstrokes are at an inherent disadvantage when it comes to producing the BIG power numbers required to push that big a truck into the 11's....not that I haven't seen fast powerstrokes mind you. And the new ford 6.0 diesel is a great motor too.

Thats not the only ford truck in the 11's.

Did you know that just a chip and exaust will put 550 HP and 1000 FPT threw the tranny on a powerstroke.

Prince Valiant

Never seen it personally...or anywhere for that matter.

Got a link? I mean, that seems really really easy for big numbers, just a chip and an exhaust. Wonder why everyone isn't running that from the powerstroke then?

Someone send an email to the guy that went through all that work and swapped in the cummins....could have saved him some time by putting on just and exhaust and a chip, money too.

I am a Chevy guy and I'll agree the New Ford diesels are sumtin to write how about. Overall the power might be less numbers wise or some shlt, but I have never been in a diesel that excellerated so quick.

And chances are 9 out of 10 that'll have a blower to boot :thumbsup

bah, we know there are plenty of fast fords...hanging out at oscars and 4 or 5 a night stop by...

You can make a ford go fast with out a blower too!:D

We go the blower route to make them as streetable as possible.

There is alot of fast cars out there, but don't forget about the FORDS!:flipoff:

BadAzzGTA89
12-12-2003, 08:35 PM
True you can make any car FAST but as i say what is fast???Also many of us may not have as much money in our cars as some fords but god bless many produced SBC so our parts are cheaper compared to building the 455 in my H/O .So as i can recall GM has got the lead on ford .I know i don't know all the stats but i am sure tom (Badls1ss) can prove that GM is ahead :thumbsup

As i say each to his own!!!!!!!!!!

While I'm definately a GM guy I believe the Ford 302's etc. are pretty cost effective to build up...no first hand experience though :).

12-12-2003, 10:14 PM
GM all the way on the sbc ive ran it in street races and also Demolition derbies and ive cooked 305 and 350 and they still run strong in a heat if u go to a derby look under the hood of an LTD usually ull find a sbc of some sort:party:

Prince Valiant
12-12-2003, 11:36 PM
heh...the funny thing about SBC is that to make real NA power, they have to make their motors more like a small block chrysler :nutkick

Snowseeker

:nutkick

But yah, the 302 and 351 ford motors are getting to be almost as cheap to build as the 350's.

Now you want to see something the cost money to build, you should come see the 460 in my garage!!

The EFI 302's are among the best performers IMO. They are essentially Ford's LS1.... The engines respond very well to certain mods , but just like an LS1 it takes careful part selection to get results and not make a slower than it should be rolling parts warehouse. SOOO many LS1's fall victim to what i call "stupid sh!t". And the EFI 87-93 Fox body Mustangs are plagued by the same "stupid sh!t". From a performance bang for the buck stand point the EFI 302 cant be beat, however since it died in 95' as a mustang production engine and now were forced to deal with that pile of aids modular 4.6 which will never be the "pushrod" 302 which was at least was a real engine and didnt necessarily need a blower to go FAST. As much of die hard GM guy i am, my hats off to the EFI 302. But its a shame that these cars and LS1 F bodies alike fall into the the wrong hands and the full potential is never seen because of that.

Prince Valiant

My take on the 302 is that it has a good foundation for a great little motor.

Has a slightly better rod/stroke ratio than the 350, which is advantageous as there is less thrust forces on the cylinder wall so you loose less HP to friction from the piston skirts. Secondly the sine of the angle to which the forces being applied to the crankshaft is less, therefore more force is transmitted to rotating the crank. Thirdly, the piston has more dwell at TDC, which promotes higher cylinder pressures for a better, more effecient burn when igniting fuel-air charge and promotes better "breathing" characteristics for drawing fuel and air into the cylinder.

When dealing with motors with non-roller cams, the ford has a larger lifter base vs the chevy. This allows for increased lift for a given duration and is important because it allows for a faster "ramp" (how quickly the intake valves opens) which also is a big advantage for engine breathing/airflow.

Got to love a motor with a 4 inch bore vs a 3 inch stroke....makes it much easier to build a motor that can rev to the moon with that.

Only downside I see on the stock 302EFI that I see is that it has shitty heads from the factory. 1.75 inch intake valves? That's worse than the groccery getting, broomstick cammed 318's. Granted w/o as manny cubic inches to feed as a 350 it's not as bad as it may seem on first appearence...but some nice 1.92 inch or 2.02 valves would be better with that 4 inch bore.

I've always liked the 302EFI though, with stock headers, a healthy cam and a good intake from the factory it's always been a very healthy motor. If I did another project that wasn't a chrysler then it would be a mustang most likely. I would just do some of the *simple* mods such as eddy performer heads, new upper and lower intake, TB, injectors, cam, and long tube headers, and maybe upgrade the ignition. Suddenly I would be making close to 300 at the wheels in a nice, light fox body with a great rear-end (to start with :D) filled with 3.73-4.11's.

Ford and chevy both have their bad and good points!

In my opinion, it is hard to beat a a blown 302, for ET times, and streetability.

But take a look, at ls1's like Tom's, running 11's with minor mods, not too many Fords that can say that!:D

But as far as fast street cars are concerned, I think Ford is in the lead, at least around these parts!:thumbsup

I completely agree....

Its getting to a point where im not so much brand oriented anymore and can truthfully see on the otherside of the fence, im big GM guy becasue thats how i was brought up, but i can respect something thats out there doing the damn thing regardless of brand.

When it comes to the classics anything is cool!! I don't care what it is, anything from the 60's - earlly 70's rolls by I have to stop what I am doing and just watch!

I am really disapointed with ford for what they did to the T-bird. I was also disapointed with ford when I heard about the 4.6 comming out. But now after seeing what some have done with these 4.6's I am impressed!
