Sounds like a dipshit attempt at making harleys look good, notice how many 60s and 70s jap bikes are still running compared to harleys before you attempt to look superior

Let the Harley guys have their fun, a lot of them will end up weeding themselves out by hoppin on their bikes after drinking all night at the local redneck pub. No offense to those of you who drive Harley's here, there are a bunch of cool riders too. The sport bike community has its fair share of douchebags too. You've been to ride nights at RIDE before with me :)

not to many. I had a old 70's honda that I learned to ride on, I got real good at pushing it cause it wouldn't run a lot:fire. My dad bought a honda new in 73 he also got good at pushing it and sold it to buy a 74 sporty back in 74. The newer bikes I have never had a problem with 97 cbr 600 and a 98 900rr

Try cleaning the carbs, its required maint. on an old bike. Look on craigslist, for every 10 old jap bikes you will find 1 old hardley, and it will need work.

There is no such thing as making a harley look good compared to a jap bike. Jap bikes are supperior in EVERY way. Weather it be a cruiser or a rocket. They ride better, they handle better and there more reliable. If people would wise up, harley woudl go out of business. If they were not an "american icon" they would be bankrupt.

Junk bikes.

Don't see any listed :rolf

I don't care what people ride, it's the loud ass f-ing pipes that annoy the sh1t outta me and a lot of other people I know. And the need to rev the loud ass pipes all the time, under overpasses, 2 am leaving or coming home from a bar etc. I don't get to run open headers on my car, so put some mufflers on it.

Very true.

IMO, what keeps harleys on the road is that you cannot easily do wheelies or endos on them. The life expectancy of a bike is dramatically reduced if is less prone to keep both wheels on the ground.

Yeah, thats ******* gayyyyy...

HD has been building the same bike for sixty years. They act like efi and abs are new. Honda and bmw has been utilizing both of these features since the EARLY 1980's. With simple jetting, pod air filters, and a full exhaust system my 1100 makes twice what a sportster 1200 makes, and about the same (if not more) power a hd big twin that is twice my displacement.

Sitting at a red light some *** on a CheckBook Chopper sat about three car lengths back and jumped the light to "race" me. By the time we were across the intersection i was up on one wheel passing him (wasn't "doing a wheelie" but rather just pulling the front up because I was on it real hard.) At the next light I totally hit him with "What's the retail on one of those?" He just looked forward and took off all civilized like when the light went green. Now THAT shit was SOOOOOO...

Sounds like a theory a guy riding a 45hp would come up with. My bike has 24k on the clock and stock gearing. Alls it takes to do a wheelie is stabbing the throttle 3/4 open from four grand in first. ******* effortless. No clutchin up, no crazy rpms. Just a torquey 4cyl liter bike that is VERY heavy.

BTW the seven negatives in your second sentence make it hard to comprehend.

Indeed harleys are junk, I have owned 3 of them and a LOT more jap bikes, and the jap bikes are better in every way. Last summer I ended up racing a "fast" harley, or so the guy said. All he had to say afterwards to me was, "the flame is a nice touch" (exhaust) and this was in the daylight. And I just have an old KZ1000......

Not so much. The people high up on the HD horse have failed to validate their argument. As a matter of fact, they have failed to state their argument. I'd guess the OP doesn't even have a bike. Just riding on the back seat of the band wagon.

since this has become a Harley bashing thread

I'm not bashing. Just trying to get a debate going. All the billy-bad-asses ran and hid.
