Does anyone know anyone that has turbocharged a 5.7 vortec motor in a chevy pick-up?

I'd like to put a turbo on mine when I replace the motor

No, I have a 97 4x4 with the original motor w/ 263k miles
I want to put a turbo on the new motor when it needs one which could be any day. I don't want a stroker motor...... I was hoping to just give a stock motor a little more power......so a small amount of boost?????

if it came down to a stroker vs a small turbo, hands down do a stroker. if you want to make some real nice HP then turbo it. I did a 383 on 92 chevy 5 spd and kept it with a factory TBI, he made enough torque to twist the leaf springs out and cork screw the drive shaft on a 1-2 powershift.... so it really depends on what your goal is, asf forest for some dyno sheets of the 5.3 he just did.

Yeah.......I want to keep the stock computer and everything.
It's just a half ton truck. I already have 35's on it and that 10 bolt won't take much more.
I just want some more power for pulling trailers and turning those tires in the mud.
I tought a turbo would be pretty cool too.
Otherwise I'd like to find a smashed 99 and up with the 5.3 and computer and change it over to that along with the disc brake rear end.
I love the 350....it's a great motor but I'm starting to see the 5.3s with higher miles on them and they seem to be holding up

sounds like a turbo is probably more then you need, id say do a good cam, maybe a stroker crank and run it. there will be huge difference right there, then get a good tune.. your 10 bolt will last much longer then the front end so i wouldnt worry to much there.

If I build a nice stroker will I still be able to keep the stock computer and fuel injection stuff. Yeah that front end is pretty weak too.....but the 10 bolt is about one burnout away from complete destruction :)
