Looking to spend about 10g, and I need a black one. Can you dealership guys keep your eyes peeled for me?

only have an orange one. but auction wise, most were shooting through (LS's) for about 9500-10g's

Whats the difference between an LS and an LT? Is it an interior package? They had one of each at Hall Chevy, same wheels and trim ?

Crawlin

Yeah pretty much. I think for '06 or '07 they changed some of their trim levels.

Like a Malibu BASE sedan in '06 is the same as a Malibu LS in '07. They got rid of the word "base".

It's all pretty much trim levels obviously. LS was hubcaps. LT you could get with wheels. LT would have power locks/windows, the LS wouldn't. All small piddly stuff you'd have to decide based on what you want to do, if it mattered to you.

I know Bruce at Heiser Chevy picked up a maroon '06 LS w/ mid 30's miles for like $8500 once. But that was right before the big gas crunch. Not being with a dealergroup that buys Chevrolet's now, it's hard to see what they are going for.

Lol, after test driving a HHR SS and realizing that it can't get the power to the ground to save its life I think one with an LSX would be awesome to see but not very fast.

I thought all HHRs came with a 5.3 or a 6.0?

Thats the SSR hot rod pickup thing, the HHR is the PT cruiser / delivery van looking thing, comes with a 4 cylinder, I think the LS has a 2.2 and the LT has a 2.4 with a little more balls to it. The SS has the 2.0 turbo eco in it.

When I was looking at them with all the incentive crap I could get a brand new base model for just a little under 10g, the base model comes pretty well equiped with power windows, locks and all that, the rest of the stuff that they upgrade for the LT is stuff I didnt like and would upgrade anyways so the base model made most sense. In the end though, I opted to stick with a truck.

How long ago was this? New these things are selling for like 18 something or another now, and base isn't an option unless you go with a panel, which I am not interested in. Don't care what motor is in it, its not a race car.

auto or manual pork?

PonyKiller87
08-07-2008, 02:54 PM
This was about a year ago at Holz. Sticker price on a base model was $13,000 and they had a ton of them. Auto trans only bumped it up about $750 if you want that. But they had about 4000 in incentives at that time. If your looking on the web site its all wrong, go talk to the sales guys, what they have on the lot goes against what the web site says you can get.

I asked if I could get a panel version with the non panel interior(rear seats and stuff but they said no.

Kinda gay and spending 3X as much on fuel is two different things. I like to travel, and can't afford it in my truck. Lisa's blazer doesn't get better then 17 mpg either, so time for a new toy. I like them, they look awesome bagged.

I had one for a rental. Good MPG's, plenty of room, doesnt' look half bad, and rides decent. Good luck with your hunt duuuuude!

The 2.2L might be better but the 2.4L in my wifes only sees 28-29mpg not to mention for SOME reason GM recommends Premium fuel for it. And it actually makes a huge difference in milage if you dont use it. They are nice cars. My wifes is dark Grey, I like the color.

This is the wifes old 06 3LT.... I dont have pictures of the Grey 08 one yet.

They are a hell of alot nicer then the PT cruisers, hell there not even in the same catergory. They have a shitload of room in them to.

Are you a crackhead? My LT with the 2.4L gets 29-30mpg on 87 REGULAR!!

Personally I wouldn't buy one, they're kinda creeky after 30k miles... But then again I think that's "normal" now a days...

Edit: Eric- I'll keep my eyes open while I'm visiting dealers... Sometimes I run across a good deal or two :thumbsup

Look in the owners manual. It clearly states that the 2.4L requires premium fuel. As far as you milage. Who the **** knows. Ive never seen better then 30 and it definitly runs worse on 87.

Mabey you have a "miracle" machine.....

Oh and im not a crackhead. :thumbsup

"If your vehicle has the 2.4L L4 engine, use premium unleaded gasoline with a posted octaine rating of 91 or hither. You may also use regular unleaded gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher, but your vehicle's acceleration may be slightly reduced, and you may notice a slight audible knocking noise, commonly referred to as spark knock"

AKA Premium is NOT Required, but is preferred...

But mine being a fleet vehicle, I've only run 87 in it since new, and it's fine, and gets good gas mileage...

Did you borrow that one from Beagle? Knowing how and when to add il is something most boys learn at 16, personal taste is something you have that nobody else gives a **** about.

If you like, you ca say that I have no taste. On the other hand, we al can call you a stupid ass forever.

:) Lose
