A few of my friends and family are planning on heading to door county and have no idea where to stay. Looking for obviously a lake view with a beach and want to stay away from camping, so we'll probably be hotelin, but don't know what area and where. So if anyone knows of any advice that would be great!

Depends on what you want - Sturgeon Bay if you like some of the touristy stuff (maritime museum and whatnot).

I like sturgeon just because you're kind of in the middle of everything.

I just stayed in Fish Creek. Very nice area. Pennsula state park is there. The door county winery tour is great, free wine, good deals.

i would recommend new port resort in egg harbor. I like it because it is only a block or so away from the marina and the fishing there is fantastic in the morning for salmon and the small mouth fishing is good in the late afternoon.

If you take the ferry across and want to stay on Washington Island, I recommend this place. My friend's father-in-law owns it.

The island is pretty cool. Even if you don't stay there, I'd take a trip over there and go exploring.
