Trickflow windsor, no intercooler, is this possible? Kind of scared a little of the pumpgas on this combo. Not my car, but I think you could only put a couple pounds of boost on this combo (under 8?) to stay pumpgas.Plus a REAL GOOD tuner. Blower guys what you think?:confused

easy....call smokey, tell him what race gas you need and he will take care of you! He's a real nice guy anyways!

if they can toss a ATI D1sc kit on a stock LS1 w/ 10.5 cr, i'm sure this thing would be fine for a couple lbs. At the very least have a cam setup for the blower setup at that compression ratio

there are a MILLION things to go in to whether or not it will work

In a nutshell, no.

How long will it stay at just a few pounds of boost? There are things that can be done to drop the compression ratio.

whats you dynamic compression, that is what will dictate what kind of boost numbers you can run with what fuel.

no intercooler+high compression = to much heat in chamber all i will say is good luck with that

I agree with this for the most part. If your running race fuel though you may be able to get away with about 6psi. Regardless though, your playing with fire. I would NOT recommend this.

even a intercooler wont help. that fact is it sounds like you probably have to much compression, but you need dynamic numbers to figure it out, but with that static at 10.1:1 you will probably need a HUGE cam to bleed enough cylindar pressure off to make it save to run decent boost.

AVOIDEDZ runs like 10.5:1 on that procharged 3rd gen if I remember reading right, and that's a high 8sec car. It's all in the COMBO

if the intake air temps are kept low enough with some type of intercooler/aftercooler setup i think it would life ok with 5-6 psi and it would need race fuel imo. with that type of compression your asking it to lift a head or head gasket

He says hes shooting for 700 on pumpgas. All i can tell ya is roller conversion, Eagle bottom end, SRP's sounds like a big cam. R intake. He stole (borrowed) my valve covers off one of one my engines and I stopped over to help him. Thats what he told me he was going to do. So , just asking:shades

How many cubes?

Is this engine built already?

Yea it is, Its a 351 ci. I think its a Mex block. I told him see if you can use thicker cc head gasket to see if you can bring it down a lil. I found out that just because you order 10.1 pistons doesnt mean 10.1 exactly. (Heads dont cc rite, manufactures reccomended gasket).

some VP C12 and he'll be fine!

Do you have aluminum heads?

badass88gt

Trick Flow doesnt make iron heads.

You could also open the chambers up on the heads to drop a little.

on a blow through combo it would work very well, fuel injected no. Hes gonna need water meth to get anywhere with this thing. I just tuned a STOCK LS6 in a CTSV with a magnacharger on 8 psi with a HUGE air to water intercooler and made 480.9 to the wheels on pump gas on a absolutly perfect tune. I think 6 psi is all hes gonna get without some form of intercooling. Water meth is the cheap way to go, and make a lot of power on this combo on pump gas. But Crawlin is right, its all in the combo, if the motor is built for boost it will eat 10 psi no sweat.

LOL:rolf:rolf Na I aint that way, want it to be no advantage, He called me up to say thanx today, Its running with the blower hooked up now. His wideband was saying it was safe so he took it around the block. Hes gonna get it tuned though. Thanx for giving me a headsup on blowers.:thumbsup

Did his ear tell him it was safe with no knock? :rolf:rolf J/K I hope he doesn't jump on that thing before its tuned.....

I know he aint that dumb. I know he does his research pretty good though. He knows he needs a ecu map in the car 1st.

Thinking of taking the orange one with the chute and wheelie bars down there to shakem up a lil.:shades Lets see, a car goin down highway with chute and wheelie bars is asking to get pulled over though.

I was up there a few weeks ago for the first time. I work 5:30pm to 4:30am so I don't get to see much that goes on at night. The night I was there, there was a nice 70's z28 with n2o there plus some other decent cars. The guy from sheboygan with the 03 whipple cobra was there and also another guy with an 04 cobra. Otherwise it was the same people there that I have seen when I have driven by. A lot of people were looking at my back seat area. I didn't even take my car there to be looked at. It was parked out farther even so I guess people wander around quite a bit.
