Hahaha... I was just cleaning out some old drawers, and found a bunch of cassette tapes that have tons of HOT 102 Air time on it...

I used to just put in a tape, and record..... commercials and everything..... Its weird hearing all those songs/commercials again...lol

Anyone remember that "Radio Graffiti" they used to have at night? :headbang

Hot 102 was way back in 6th grade for me!! I remember that was when they first started putting radios and speakers in school buses and we all the kids used to argue between Hot 102 and 94 WKTI. Damn!! Thanks for making me feel old!! http://sportbikes.net/forums/images/smilies/doublefinger.gif :goof

I still have a 93QFM "Good Ideas.....Great Results" glass candy jar. I use it to hold my loose change.

You guys remember what they did right before they changed thier format? Yeah, nothin' but Areosmith all the time, now that was wierd. Now 93.3 is nothing but light jazz crap

I also have a Hot 102 bumper sticker laying around yet :D. Last winter I put one of them on my winter beater :goof .

I also know I have lots of *airtime* on their tapes from the mid 90's...I remember how pissed I was when they switched to New Rock 102.1 all of a sudden, or thats how I remember it...I guess Kiss kind of replaced them with the generic popular music, replaying the same songs every hour  . They used to have some cool mixes on Friday nights if I remember...now I feel old too!

Yeah... That was like 6-7th grade for me too... I dont feel OLD though..lol... Im only 22...:cool2:

The Queit Storm...LOL!! I still liked the Radio Graffiti where you could call in, and have 3 seconds to say ANYTHING you wanted...haha.... I remember calling and giving out my Home Phone Number....LOL!! Next thing you know, I got all these Chix from Milwaukee/Waukesha calling ...LOL Good times... good times.... :(

Man... I was PISSED when they switched to New Rock 102.1 TOO !! I must have called them every day asking why they switched over to playing Green Day 24/7, and what they did with all those tapes/cd's from HOT 102......

I wonder why 93.3 switched over to playing Crap 24/7 too... I never really listened to them, but, werent they at least giving Laser 103 some good competition?? :confused

Once QFM switched Lazer had no competition and began to suck. WLUm is probably my fav out of Milwaukee radio, but by far I like JJO out of Madison and WIIL out of Kenosha.

Fake at 8 is awesome. Completely non-PC all morning.

Best was in Michigan, 10-15 GOOD rock stations to flip through.

Hot 102 was the shizzm when they used to play Eazy E and other rap. WLUM is pretty sweet though too. Now we have 98.3, the other day they were mixing some songs off of the predator album and playing some Digital Underground. The best station as far as i'm concerned is Q101 in chicago though.....they even play mancow....which WLUM doesn't have anymore.

I too was friggin pissed when 102.1 switched to NEW ROCK 102.1

LAME

I remember Best Buy had the sweatshirts and stuff there trying to promote the new music station. I really think it was an instant switch with little to no mention of it on the air. I seriously remember playing Hot 102.1 one day and hearing Nirvana the next. I bet that I have some "air time" cassettes laying around as well. I used to tape off the air hoping to get that one Baby Got Back play of the day:rockwoot:

I was p'd too, but was getting sick of all of the jimi hendrix and all of the hairbands on 102.9 and needed another rock station. Everything that you could have heard on 102.1 pre-switch can be heard on 103.7, 98.3 and V100. Overall I think the tradeoff worked well. Hot 102.1 was sweet though!

We need to get someone to sponsor something like that again. Like a Brew City Cruz or something. All these week a$$ stations now don't have the balls to back somthing like that. :headbang

I may be wrong on this, but I thought 93 changed thier format because they were getting so many FCC fines due to the "Richard Cranium" related type stuff that ultimately they were given the option to change format or shut the staion down.
I remember the ride home from work when Q changed their format, I kept changing back to that station hoping for another AC/DC track. It was almost surreal that something you were so used to was actually no longer.

Lets do it and get "The Cruise" going again!
