hmm i didnt do as good as i wanted in the bonnie. when i got there i ran 3 runs right away.
16.4@87
16.1@87
16.1@88
then i let it cool off for maybe 20 min. then i ran a

15.8@88
let it cool off some more
15.7@88
15.8@88

i think it doesnt like heat at all. i need to go on another day when i can let it cool off all the way before i race it. then i can start modding it.

Not too shabby considering my bone stock 87 Mustang Gt could only muster a 15.1 with 2:73 gears and a BONE stock AOD. :goof

What are your plans for the car? Same as the Beretta?

correct, forced induction does not like hot air. warmer the car runs, worse it runs. thats why many of the mods people do are cooling. cooler range plugs, cooler thermostat, etc.

i dont know what all i want to do. i do want to CHIP it and get a pulley. im hearing very faint cone noise only with my stethoscope so depending how long that lasts. either the newer supercharger design or a turbo in place. I have not really looked into alot of messing around with what people do to these engines, but i need to get my beretta running well enough first. all i need is a clucth and then tune it to get it driving well.

man can i tell a difference. this car warms up to 200 F within 3 minutes of me driving it anywhere. this morning it took about 3 minutes to go from overnight cooling off to 200 degrees. now i know why on all the L67 forums everyone and their mom has the T-stat and 104(?) plugs LOL

yeah, it's a 97, so still a Series II. go to AL 104s, 160 or 180 thermo (in the summer i ran a drilled 160 and switched to 180 in winter) get a scanmaster, and go from there. without the scanmaster you're kind of moot, you need to see what kind of Knock Retard numbers you are getting. some cars are freaks and run none, some run a ton. either way, with plugs, the thermostat, and some sort of intake, you can run a 3.4 pulley safely. after that, a DHP (what you call a chip) its a full computer switch. remember though, the trans on L67 cars does NOT like mods. it'll be pretty strong for a good amount of time, stock. once you mod it, it goes downhill from there.

I was running a scanner tonight and noticed maybe 1 knock retard at WOT, and KS noise(?) was around 3.50s never did it hit 4.0 at idle it was around
.70s

now someone was also telling me since i have a HD trans it should hold up to more mods. but i know not a ton. i do plan on chip, pulley, t-stat and plug mods. intake of course, and exhaust work. i do want a shift kit of somekind.
in the end i would like to be a low 14 maybe 13s, but i doubt ill get into 13s with just those mods. ahah. i want the car to stay reliable.

Shift kit + a "DHP" ecu worked nice on my GTP it had the HD trans IIRC.
